If you are a beauty girlie (or even if you are not) you would probably remember Hailey Bieber launching the Rhode lip tint phone case in 2024, and the beauty girlies collectively losing their minds. The product practically sold itself. Whether or not the peptide lip tint was worth the hype didn’t matter because of how cool the phone case was. There is something about multi-functional beauty accessories that girls find absolutely irresistible, and the beauty industry seems to have understood it. From sunscreen charms and lip oil keychains to solid perfume necklaces and clip-on lip glosses, wearable beauty accessories are huge today. These fun little products might be convenient, but also super cute, which is a major reason why we love them so much (girls, don’t deny). Because taking out a lipstick from your bag for touching up is just as convenient as pulling out a lipstick charm from the handle of your bag, but that’s a conversation we would rather not have!
Having said that, a good sunscreen that comes as a charm can be a game-changer, since it keeps reminding you to reapply it. Exhibit A: The ISDIN Sunscreen. This dermatologist-backed sunscreen comes with a carabiner that you can hang on bags. Homegrown brands like Lakmé, Dot & Key, and Indulgeo Essentials have also launched sunscreens as charms and keychains.
The Ordinary also hopped onto this wearable beauty accessory trend. Apart from a dropper bottle packaging, they launched their famous Soothing & Barrier Support Serum along with a keychain pouch to hold the serum, so you can use it on-the-go. They also launched their Squalane + Amino Acids Lip Balm as a charm, and we are obsessed!
This trend isn’t limited to skincare products. There are a bunch of brands that are doing charms and keychains for make-up products as well. Cases in point: Pocket cheek palette charm from fwee, lipstick case bag charm from Marc Jacobs, and lip gloss charms from Fenty Beauty!
While wearable accessories are big right now, the trend isn’t new. Brands like Chloé and Stella McCartney launched necklaces with solid perfumes more than a decade ago.
