That gorgeous wedding glow actually starts much in advance of the big day. And for busy brides-to-be, the night routine is where the focus lies, for it is at this time when they can follow the regimen of cleansing, using the right serums and turning back the effects of all the planning, stress and more.

Avoid harsh face scrubs as they can cause micro-tears

For brides-to-be, I don’t recommend using too many skincare products, especially at night. Stick to ingredients that already suit your skin. If introducing new actives at night, start at least 3–4 months in advance. Depending on your skin concerns, Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, tranexamic acid can be considered. Alpha arbutin works to reduce sun discolouration effects on the skin. Also, avoid harsh physical face scrubs at night, as they cause micro-tears.

Use a mild retinol twice weekly for renewal

For brides-to-be, consistency is far more important than last-minute skincare. A simple, well-planned nighttime routine, followed regularly in the weeks leading up to your big day, can help your skin look brighter, healthier and beautifully rested.

Begin with a gentle double cleanse, micellar water followed by a mild cleanser. Three nights a week, incorporate vitamin C with niacinamide for brightness and rejuvenation, and a mild retinol twice weekly for renewal. Follow with a gentle hyaluronic Acid-based night cream twice a week for eye care use a barrier-repair cream followed by a peptide and  Vitamin K oxide night cream.

And above all, stay hydrated, nourish your body, correct nutritional deficiencies when needed, and be sure to prioritise quality sleep. Achieving healthy looking skin is not entirely dependent on skincare, it is rests heavily on hydration, nourishment and consistency.

A night routine is a vital step and is focused on repairing and rejuvenating your skin, as the repair mechanism  of the skin takes place while you are asleep.

Remove your makeup with a dedicated makeup remover (micellar water or oil-based cleanser) before washing your face with a gentle pH cleanser.

Nourish or treat  your skin with any problem-specific serum (niacinamide/ kojic acid/ vitamin C /salicyclic acid/hylauronic acid) as recommended by a dermatologist. You can also alternate between a retinol or vitamin C at night.

Moisturising the skin is a vital step to avoid chronic dryness .

Hydrate with serums, moisturisers and sheet masks to keep your skin plump and radiant.

An eye cream must be used to protect the sensitive area around the eyes and also treat eye problems like pigmentation, bagginess around eyes or even wrinkles

Hydrate your lips with a lip balm to keep them plump.

Another non-negotiable beauty step in the night routine is having a full night's calm and peaceful sleep.
