If you like your rom-com a little heartwarming, the kind that tugs at your being and stays in your mind rent-free for a little while longer than you expect, Voicemails to Isabelle is just that watch. The movie follows Jill (Zoey Deutch) who continues to leave voicemails for her late sister after losing her to cancer. What was a coping mechanism for Jill to deal with grief turned into an emotional rollercoaster when those voice messages reach Wes (Nick Robinson) who slowly falls in love with the woman behind the voicemails.

40 Dates and 40 Nights

We know dating is exhausting and now even the characters in those rom-coms are coming to realise it and the best example of that is Leah (Bailee Madison) in 40 Dates and 40 Nights. But what makes this interesting is one challenge. Leah goes on 40 dates in just 40 nights after she accepts a challenge from her grandmother. As she survives one disastrous date after another, she starts to realise that love isn’t something you can plan, rather an unexpected moment when everything just fits.

If you’re anything like me and would love a little workplace romance (not just in movies), this one hits very close to home. Jennifer Lopez returns to the rom-com genre alongside Brett Goldstein in Office Romance. The Netflix comedy follows Jackie Cruz, a tough CEO, and Daniel Blanchflower, the company’s ambitious new lawyer, who try to keep their growing attraction under wraps despite working together. This feel-good rom-com is the perfect package of workplace banter, awkward situations, and plenty of chemistry.
