Bollywood actor Aamir Khan married his longtime partner Gauri Spratt in an intimate ceremony at his Bandra home on July 5, attended by about 150 close family members and friends. The low-key wedding featured emotional family moments with their children present, a simple home setting, and viral images and videos that highlighted the couple’s affectionate vows and first dance together.
It’s a new beginning for Bollywood star Aamir Khan who married his longtime partner, Gauri Spratt, in a private ceremony at his Bandra home in Mumbai on July 5. Instead of a big Bollywood wedding, the couple kept things simple and celebrated with close family and friends.
According to reports, around 150 guests attended the wedding, including family members, close friends, and loved ones who had travelled from overseas. Soon after the ceremony, pictures and videos from the celebrations began appearing on social media.
The couple had their loved ones in attendance and the wedding was filled with special family moments. Aamir’s children, Junaid Khan, Ira Khan and Azad Rao Khan, were present for the ceremony. Gauri’s son, Quinn, also joined the celebrations.
One of the sweetest pictures from the wedding showed Azad and Quinn holding the couple’s wedding rings before Aamir and Gauri exchanged them after taking their vows. Videos from the ceremony also showed Junaid, Ira, Azad and Quinn sitting beside the couple as they officially became husband and wife.
Aamir’s ex-wives, Reena Dutta and filmmaker Kiran Rao, who are often seen together at family events, were not present at the wedding.
Aamir, 61, and Gauri, 47, signed their marriage documents at around 12.45 pm at the actor’s home. They looked radiant and happy as they made their marriage official.
In a video from the ceremony has gone viral, Aamir calls Gauri his lawful wife before leaning in to kiss her, though the clip cuts away before that moment. After Gauri calls him her lawful husband, Aamir is seen sweetly kissing her hand.
In another photo from the ceremony, Gauri is seen raising her fist in celebration after signing the marriage papers.
The couple also shared their first dance as family members clapped, cheered and celebrated with them. They were also seen hugging each other while everyone around them smiled and applauded. Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi attended the wedding with his wife and daughter, while Rajkumar Hirani was also among the close friends who celebrated with the couple.
Former cricketer Irfan Pathan attended the wedding with his wife and later shared a video from the ceremony on social media.
Along with the video, he wrote, “Dear Amir Bhai & Gauri, Heartiest congratulations on your wedding! Wishing you both a lifetime of love, happiness, laughter, and togetherness. May Allah bless your beautiful journey with endless joy and countless blessings. So happy for you both, congratulations once again!”
For the wedding, Aamir wore an off-white kurta and dhoti. When he came out to see off the guests, many noticed that he was also wearing a chunky silver anklet, which quickly became a talking point on social media.
Aamir and Gauri have known each other for nearly 25 years. They first met in Bengaluru but later lost touch. They reconnected three years ago in 2023, and gradually their friendship blossomed into something deeper.
Earlier this year, Aamir introduced Gauri as his partner during his 60th birthday celebrations. He later shared that while they had known each other for decades, they had been dating for just over two years.
Last month, while confirming the wedding date, Aamir said, “Shaadi hai 5 July ko. Ghar pe hi kar rahe hain. Bahut hi choti shaadi hai. Bahut hi khaas din hai 5 tarikh hamare liye. Dono families hain aur kuch khaas dost hain. (The wedding is on 5 July. We are hosting it at home; it’s a very small, intimate affair. It is a very special day for us. Both families and a few close friends will be there)”.
Gauri is originally from Bengaluru and has mostly stayed away from the spotlight. She is the daughter of Rita Spratt, a former salon owner, and works in the wellness and beauty industry.
