Samantha Ruth Prabhu has a lot to celebrate right now. The actor who got married last year to filmmaker Raj Nidimoru is now expecting her first child. But what makes this moment even more exciting is that this happy news has come at the same time as the success of her comeback film, Maa Inti Bangaram.
Buzz around Samantha’s pregnancy began over the weekend when she attended the film’s success meet. Photos and videos from the event were quick to make their way to the internet and had several of her fans speculating about her pregnancy after they noticed what looked like a baby bump. The pictures and clips from the event captured the actor looking happy and at ease as she joined the cast and crew to celebrate the film’s strong response from audiences.
While there has not been any official statement on the same by the actress yet, director B.V. Nandini Reddy has now confirmed the news. Speaking to Cinema Express, Nandini said, “Her pregnancy comes at a beautiful time, as our film, Maa Inti Bangaram has become a success.” The comment instantly turned what had been social media speculation into a moment of celebration for Samantha’s fans.
A source close to Samantha also confirmed the news to SCREEN and shared that the couple is thrilled about this new phase in their lives.
“Samantha is in her first trimester, and the couple is very happy about it, especially Samantha, who always wanted to become a mother”, the source said to the publication.
Samantha and Raj got married on December 1, 2025, in an intimate ceremony at the Linga Bhairavi temple inside the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore. The two are believed to have first met while working together on The Family Man 2, where Samantha played the much-talked-about character Raji. Their friendship reportedly grew stronger over the years, especially when they reunited for Citadel: Honey Bunny.
Now, just months after their wedding, the couple is preparing to welcome their first child together.
The pregnancy news comes during a particularly exciting time in Samantha’s career. Her latest film, Maa Inti Bangaram, has had a strong start at the box office since its release on June 19. The film crossed Rs 25 crore worldwide within just two days, making it one of the biggest highlights of her recent career.
