Remember when Aadar Jain whisked away his then-girlfriend Alekha Advani to the Maldives to pop the question old-school style? Well, the couple has now kicked off their wedding celebrations with a Roka ceremony.

The Roka ceremony typically takes place ahead of a Punjabi wedding. This intimate ceremony lets both sides of the family get to know each other well before the festivities start.

Actor Aadar Jain and entrepreneur Alekha Advani hosted an intimate ceremony in Mumbai for their friends and family. The couple twinned in white, with Aadar opting for a sherwani and churidar set and Alekha going for a Tarun Tahiliani sari with a statement blouse overlaid by strands of pearls.

The groom-to-be’s Kapoor side of the family showed up in their finest. Kareena Kapoor Khan looked stunning in a printed sari by Anita Dongre.

Karisma Kapoor went with a block-printed Gulabo Jaipur kurta set.

Ranbir Kapoor looked dapper in black as he accompanied his mother Neetu Kapoor, who picked a pink Payal Khandwala kurta set for the night.

The couple, and their celebrity guests, greeted the waiting paparazzi outside the venue before proceeding to enter the venue for the ceremony.

Videos and images from the ceremony were shared on Instagram where the families could be seen having the best time celebrating the soon-to-be-wed couple amidst music and food.
