There are wedding purchases you make for one celebration, and then there are pieces you hope to wear for years afterwards. Bvlgari’s first boutique in Kolkata has plenty for anyone drawn to the latter. The Roman jewellery house opened its doors at Quest Mall on 18 September 2026, bringing its jewellery, watches, accessories and leather goods to the city. For brides, its India-exclusive Bvlgari Mangalsutra and B.zero1 Kada Bracelet offer a particularly good reason to visit.

Spread across 115 square metres on the mall’s ground floor, the boutique is Bvlgari’s fourth destination in India, following Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad. Its arrival gives shoppers in Kolkata and across eastern India the chance to explore the collections in person, whether they are choosing wedding jewellery, looking for a gift for their partner or marking a milestone together.

A little Rome, a little Kolkata

The store takes inspiration from Bvlgari’s historic flagship on Via Condotti in Rome. Travertine portals frame the entrance, which bears the house’s familiar logo in Roman capitals against an imperial green pelmet. Inside, sculptural travertine and onyx counters sit alongside fluted walls that recall Roman columns. Curved showcases soften the space, while artwork by Andy Warhol adds an unexpected pop of colour.

The detail most likely to make you stop and look up is the Serpenti chandelier by Venini. Handcrafted in Murano glass and made with approximately 300 crystal wands, it gives Bvlgari’s famous snake motif a place at the centre of the boutique.

Kolkata has its own place in the design. Milan-based artisans Pictalab have created an installation that brings together maps of Rome and Kolkata, connected by a winding Serpenti form. The Victoria Memorial rises from the Kolkata side, with hand-painted details, three-dimensional motifs and gold leaf completing the work. It is a more personal touch than simply bringing the same store design to another city.

What can you shop?

Serpenti and Octo are among the collections in focus. The former brings Bvlgari’s snake motif to jewellery and watches, while Octo is known for its sharply architectural watch designs. Shoppers will also find B.zero1, Divas’ Dream, Bvlgari Bvlgari and Tubogas, along with accessories and luxury leather goods.

For a Manifest bride, the Bvlgari Mangalsutra is the piece to look out for. It takes a familiar part of the Indian wedding wardrobe and places it within the house’s jewellery universe. The B.zero1 Kada Bracelet is another India-exclusive design to consider, whether you are shopping for yourself or for someone whose style you know well. Both invite a closer look than a photograph can offer, particularly if you want to see how a piece feels when you wear it.

The boutique also offers private appointments for high jewellery clients. Through Bvlgari’s carnet programme, exceptional creations can be brought directly to Kolkata, giving clients access to pieces beyond what they may find on display.

“We are very pleased to open our new boutique in Kolkata, a city with a remarkable artistic and cultural heritage and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship,” said Stéphane Larher, Managing Director, Bvlgari Middle East, Africa and India. He added that the opening marks another milestone in the house’s journey across the country.

For couples planning a wedding, it’s a place to try on a piece together, find a gift that feels personal, or choose something to remember the celebration by long after the outfits have been packed away.
