  • Anant Ambani Radhika Merchant sangeet looks

Even if you are not a pop-culture enthusiast, you may find it difficult to ignore the pictures emerging on your social media feed from the Ambani pre-wedding festivities. Be it the 3-day pre-wedding festivities at Jamnagar, Gujarat, the 4-day cruise along the Italian Coastline, or theMameru ceremony held at their residence, Antilia.

In the prelude to Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding ceremony on 12th July, the sangeet ceremony at the Neeta Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center gave us enough style inspiration to fuel our inspiration boards.

The theme was 'Celebration of Hearts' but the dress code was clearly 'Metallics, Metallics, Metallics. Here are some of our favourite looks from the night...

Best looks from Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's sangeet ceremony

    Isha Ambani

Isha Ambani Piramal is undoubtedly India’s best-dressed woman.  For her brother Anant’s sangeet ceremony, she wowed us with, not one but, three outfits. The newest style It girl on the block made an indelible mark in fashion history by wearing the first-ever sari custom Schiaparelli sari.

The Internet-breaking cobalt blue sari had a silver sculpted blouse, which was complemented by her statement diamond jewellery.

Isha also wore a one-shoulder Manish Malhotra ensemble with exquisite mirrorwork all over and a crystal-embellished Falguni and Shane Peacock number.

    Radhika Merchant and Anant Ambani

The soon-to-be-wed couple Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant wore custom ensembles from designer Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. Radhika wore a pastel-hued shimmering gold lehenga, dripping with Swarovski crystals and paired the look with a diamond drop necklace featuring a pistachio-hued gemstone at the end.  The groom sported a royal blue bandhgala with real gold threading.

    Nita Ambani

Matriarch Nita Ambani made a statement in pink with a lehenga choli embellished with silver sequined work designed by Falguni and Shane Peacock. She paired the ensemble with a diamond choker, matching earrings, a matha patti and a heart-shaped diamond ring borrowed from her daughter Isha's collection.

    Shloka Mehta

Shloka Ambani, too, went with multiple outfit changes for the night. While all her looks were stellar, we can't help but obsess over the recreation of the iconic ensemble worn by Poo (Kareena Kapoor) in Karan Johar'sKabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Manish Malhotra dipped into his archives and recreated the stunning number for Shloka and it's safe to say, we had a winner!

    Deepika Padukone

Mom-to-be Deepika Padukone was seen cradling her baby bump in a purple-hued saree designed by Karan Torani. The organza sari, named 'Bhadra Sanjali', is an iconic ensemble from the Torani classics. The delicate embroidery and long overflowing drape were an ode to all traditional craftsmen. The white Kundan and pearl choker with drop earrings complemented the whole look.

    Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt went with a custom black lehenga by Faraz Manan. The intricate geometric embroidery pattern and silver sequin detailing made the superstar stand out for all the right reasons.

    Janhvi Kapoor

Jahnvi Kapoor paid an ode to Jamnagar by wearing a custom-made peacock-inspired lehenga designed by Manish Malhotra. The lehenga redefined mermaid-core fashion, thanks to its silhouette. The ensemble was decorated with sequinned stones in blue and green, along with faux peacock feathers.

    Kiara Advani

Kiara Advani’s Tarun Tahiliani-designed pearl embellished pre-draped sari is now an addition to our favourite pearl-encrusted looks.

    Sara Ali Khan

Sara Ali Khan clearly got the metallic memo because the actress showed up in all her gilded glory. the Manish Malhotra ensemble is a firm 'yes' in our books for wedding style inspiration for the season.

    Athiya Shetty

Athiya Shetty’s custom-made sari from Jade by Monica and Karishma is the way to redefine metallics this season. The signature zari and 3D floral embellishments on the scalloped lace of the sari were *chef's kiss*.

    Ananya Panday

When it comes to metallics, you can't go wrong with Manish Malhotra. Another MM winner was Ananya Panday’s sequinned gold lehenga paired with an off-shoulder matching blouse.

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.

The fact that it comes with band, baaja and baraat — what's not to love? And that is the reason our first issue celebrates:
    THE NEW BRIDE.
