While the bride inevitably gets all the attention on her big day (like she should), we really appreciate a bridesmaid delivering a major style moment. It is common knowledge that every girl starts dreaming of her wedding as a child, but what most people don’t realise is that girls also start planning their sisters’ and best friends’ weddings quite early on. If you haven’t discussed your bridesmaid outfit with your best friend at three in the morning, at a random Friday sleepover, knowing damn well that none of you have a potential husband, are you even best friends? We particularly love it when our favourite fictional characters make it to our bridesmaids' fashion mood boards. Here are our favourite on-screen bridesmaid fashion moments.

Let’s be real—Aisha is never not looking immaculate. From iconic polo match looks to her cute gardening outfits, Aisha knows how to serve a look. Naturally, she was going to put her best fashion foot forward as a bridesmaid. For Dhruv and Aarti’s wedding, Aisha twins with her other bridesmaids in a classic white saree with a broad gold border. Granted, they’re all wearing the same outfit, but Aisha’s look has our heart. Her neatly plated saree is impeccably styled with gold jhumkas, matching bangles, and a side bun with a gajra around it. As simple as the look is, it’s incredibly memorable.

Speaking of looks that have great recall value, second on the list is Nisha from Hum Aapke Hain Koun. You cannot talk about memorable bridesmaids' looks and leave out Nisha. While her purple Didi tera devar deewana look lives rent-free in our hearts, this look is a close second. For her sister’s wedding in the movie, Nisha opts for a vibrant green lehenga. You know the trick where you wear something seemingly simple in a vibrant colour and call it a day? Yes, Nisha knew that trick in the 90s!

    Naina, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

The OG GenZ bridesmaid, Naina Talwar, served looks that went on to dictate bridesmaid trends for years to come. Whether it’s the red sharara that she wore for Aditi’s sangeet, to her pink and orange colour-block lehenga that she wore for the haldi, Naina was dressed impeccably throughout the wedding festivities. Our favourite look though? The blue and black saree that she wore for Aditi’s cocktail. The chokehold that the look had all the girls in needs to be studied!

We love a good Rachel Green fashion moment, but Monica’s style choices deserve more love for sure. Monica might have been mistaken for Ross’ mother at the wedding, but Chandler was right when he said that she was the most beautiful person in the room in her vibrant red dress.

    Avni, Veere Di Wedding

Sonam, in this movie (or any movie for that matter) is phenomenally dressed at any given point. Avni could be ranting about her ex-boyfriend to her besties in her bed in her PJs and would still be a really cute pair of PJs. So how can we expect her to go wrong at her best friend’s wedding? For Kalindi’s wedding, Avni is dressed in her dreamy pastel lehenga with an embellished blouse and puff sleeves. And not just any lehenga, but an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla lehenga.

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.
