From brides to red carpet rebels, Wild at Heart celebrates fashion as an emotion, a memory, and a mirror of one’s true selfFDCI

An ode to the ones unafraid of owning up their authenticity and reimagining how fashion is perceived, Aisha Rao’s Wild at Heart, unveiled at the Hyundai India Couture Week 2025, in association with Reliance brands, an initiative of FDCI, was not just a new garment collection but a call for the wild to live louder and more confidently.

A love letter to the wild, this collection launched in collaboration with Kohler sets a maximalist tone to nature's untamed beauty, metallics meet whimsy, and fantasy meets form. This couture collection wove a sanctuary of banana leaves, lotus blooms and palms into fabrics through Aisha’s signature applique, embroidery, structural silhouettes and surrealist storytelling.

For the first time, romantic silhouettes blend with molten metallics, dreamy rose golds, berry tones and champagne hues for those unafraid of reinvention, lending a magical vibe to each of the ensembles from the collection.

Embracing maximalism fearlessly, Aisha Rao’s collection featured dreamy florals, theatrical blazers, architectural tailoring and textures that were rich with memory. With each look paired with jewellery from Shree Jewellers, the runway unfolded with fluidity as lehengas and ethereal shararas, sharply tailored pieces, graced the stage, reflecting a mix of whimsy and structure that speaks of fantasy but is grounded in polish.

Every beadwork piece from the collection echoed a narrative through designs that intertwined memory with imagination. A collection not just restricted to bridal wear, Aisha Rao’s designs were not just relatable for one generation, but they transcended the boundaries of age. With her designs ranging from occasion wear to red carpet readiness, the collection carried an elegance best suited for everyone alike, be it the bride, guests, mother‑of‑the‑bride, or the groom.

Adding glam to the already glamorous display, Bollywood star Sara Ali Khan had headlined the finale of the show as she turned showstopper for Aisha Rao. Gliding down the runway in a mesmerising rose-gold Banarasi tissue lehenga that was detailed with geometric checks, whimsical floral motifs and beads and crystal embroidery, Sara looked ethereal as spectators watched the craftsmanship shine through her ensemble in awe.

An exploration of nature as both a visual and emotional space that aims to blur the thin line between memory and imagination, Aisha Rao’s collection was an epitome of nature-driven femininity, with embroidery and detailing that felt intuitive and expressive. It brought forward a couture fantasy grounded in sensory details that signaled the evolution of fashion and couture into a concept beyond just embellishments, with a focus on evoking emotion.
