A bridesmaid’s job isn’t easy. From learning the choreography to a 10-song medley to planning shoe heists, being a bridesmaid is practically a full-time job. If you are a bridesmaid-to-be with no time to rest and a TO-DO list that just keeps getting longer, we are here to make your life just a little easier. Here’s the list of things to keep in your Bridesmaid Survival Kit, from the just-in-case-stuff, to the stuff you’ll definitely need!

What To Keep In Your Bridesmaid Survival Kit

    Earring Stoppers

Bridesmaids, picture this: you’re at the wedding, having a great time, dancing the night away, and you drop your earring stopper and can’t seem to find it. This scenario has the potential to single-handedly ruin your night. You’ll have no option but to get rid of your earrings, unless you’re smart enough to carry extra pairs!

    Fabric Glue/Fashion Tapes

From the Baraat to the pheras, an Indian wedding typically lasts for 8-10 hours. And while your make-up will need retouching for sure, your outfit might need some fixing as well. If you have secured your outfit in place with fabric glue, you should be carrying it in your survival kit as well, in case it loses adhesion in a couple of hours.

    Numbing Cream

Using over-the-counter numbing cream for your feet is a super effective way to ease the pain of wearing uncomfortable shoes, since the anesthetics in them temporarily block the sensation of pain. There’s a good chance that you’re planning to wear uncomfortable high highs for the night; in which case, numbing cream is a must.

    Bobby Pins

Only women know the misery of wearing a hundred bobby pins in their hair, and still have their hair fall apart by the morning. Lesson to be learnt: no amount of bobby pins are ever enough. Carry extras!

Just like bobby pins, you can never have too many safety pins. Whether it’s for having the pleats of your sari stay put, or for having the dupatta of your lehenga stay in place, safety pins will come in handy in a bunch of different scenarios.

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.
