Today is the last day of the Hyundai India Couture Week and as I write this article—New Delhi is packed. It’s packed with traffic and there’s torrential rain. But, the people of the capital have their energy and spirits intact as they get ready to see the new collection of designer-duo Falguni Shane Peacock.

The couple truly made it worth everyone’s while by coming back with a bang this time at the Hyundai ICW with their new collection Rang Mahal. This showcase also marked the designers’ 20 years in the industry.

This time around they narrated a story that stayed with everyone who attended the showcase. The show opened with a beautiful sitar performance followed by the Bombay choir singing the background chorus of Game of Thrones and other famous Bollywood tunes. The show was opened by actor Rashmika Mandanna who was seen in a silver lehenga featuring a mini blouse and a long drape. The blouse was adorned with tassels, sequins and crystals.

Models walked in the most extravagant lehengas, pre-draped saris, and gowns. The women were seen in a colour palette filled with champagne gold, blue, ivory, and electric golden among others.

The standout details included bejewelled veils with tassels and exceptional sehras for men. Presenting over 40 elements of the Indian heritage, the designers have given the classic white and black bride a solid makeover.

Featuring mini blouses paired with tissue silk, sequins, and velvet—the look was completed with jewellery by Tanishq. While men walked in sherwanis resplendent with sequins. For the men, the colour palette was black, silver, and Prussian blue. The show was closed by actor Vicky Kaushal wearing a cream, shimmery sherwani. The show ended with the Bombay Choir singing ‘Ilahi’ fromYeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.

Falguni Shane Peacock’s ‘Rang Mahal’ was the perfect conclusion to the thrilling Hyundai India Couture Week 2024.

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.

The fact that it comes with band, baaja and baraat — what's not to love? And that is the reason our first issue celebrates:
    THE NEW BRIDE.
