From Peacock-Shaped Necklines To The Couture-ification Of Jeans, Falguni Shane’s ICW Collection Had No Time For Mundanity

Falguni Shane Peacock just showcased their collection ‘Le Grand Voyage’ at the FDCI Hyundai India Couture Week 2026. The collection, which was an ode to travel, took us through a journey across continents. It drew inspiration from the Byzantine mosaics of Rome, the Belle Époque of France, the goth of Strasbourg, the regal palaces of Bavaria, and the opulence of the Taj Mahal.

The set and vibe

A lifelike recreation of a vintage European railway station formed the set for the show. With vintage railway pillars, lamp posts, and a huge antique railway clock, the guests were transported into a railway platform. A massive train that said “The Peacock Express” was also installed in the background. The show began with a dance performance by a troupe dressed as railway porters, further leaning into the vintage travel vibe.

The music

As the show began, the models started entering from the same train that formed the background of the runway. The music was soft and mellow, with the instrumental version of ‘Where Do I begin’ from ‘Love Story’ being one of the tracks. 

The looks

The collection opened with a set of menswear looks, all with cascading capes. Then came A-line lehengas covered in their signature feathers, paired with embellished bralettes and boxy jackets. This was followed by a series of sleek gowns and saris featuring corsets, embellished tulle, and even feathered boas. One look in particular, featured a beautiful neckline in the shape of a peacock. We also saw embellished bralettes with matching fishtail skirts, and saris with jackets covered entirely in feathers.

This was followed by a series of Chanel-esque menswear looks, all in black and white, featuring boxy jackets, relaxed pants, satin shirts with scarves. The lehengas leaned into Falguni Shane’s signature maximalism and drama, with shorter veils and headgears being the key accessories. What we loved particularly is that some of these lehengas came with pockets!

The menswear looks then transitioned into embellished sheer kurtas, and intricately embroidered bandhgalas and sherwanis, all with wider pants. We also saw a series of women’s embellished kurtas, paired with balloon pants. The hemlines of these kurtas also had little tassels. Love!

The collection had a series of interesting looks, but one thing that we’re particularly obsessed with, was the jeans. We saw denim jeans covered in feathers from the knee down. This was paired with an embellished jacket. We don’t know about you, but we are totally obsessing over this couture-ification of jeans!

While the colour palette mostly featured gold, silver, champagne, browns, and other muted shades like ice blue and blush pink, the jewellery by P.C.Totuka & Sons added a touch of colour to a lot of these looks, with multi-coloured gemstones.
