An emotion, more than accessory!Swarovski

Rashmika Mandanna’s relationship with jewellery began long before the spotlight found her—rooted in childhood memories and her mother’s effortless elegance. Today, as Swarovski’s newest ambassador, she reflects on style, sentiment and what she hopes to manifest next.

Manifest: Rashmika, Tell us about your earliest memory of jewellery.

Rashmika Mandanna: “Watching my Amma [mother] get ready...I would stare at her with awe. She wore minimal jewellery—mostly a simple necklace and earrings with her sari—yet she looked effortlessly beautiful. I would often tell her that I’d like to wear the same pieces as hers, and that’s when Amma gifted me my first piece of jewellery, a pair of earrings that I wore everywhere.”

M: Congratulations on being appointed the new ambassador for Swarovski. What do you love about the brand?

RM: “I admire how Swarovski celebrates versatility and self-expression. I’ve always loved jewellery that feels effortless for everyday wear, but still has the power to transform how you feel the moment you put it on...”

M: Tell us about some of the pieces you wear daily.

RM: “My everyday essentials are quite simple. I really like the ear cuffs from Swarovski, and I also love their Millenia watch. Other than that, I am partial to a chic tennis necklace and stackable rings.”

M: Is there a jewellery hack you learnt on the job?

RM: “Not a hack per se, but a styling trick I have mastered is how to layer delicate pieces together. For instance, a simple chain can look completely different when paired with another one of varying length or style. It instantly adds dimension without feeling over-the-top. And mixing metals. For the longest time, I thought gold and silver shouldn’t be worn together, but blending them makes the look more modern.”

M: If you could pick one piece of jewellery from Swarovski, which one would it be and why?

RM: “I love Swarovski’s Millenia collection. It features my go-to pieces because not only is it versatile, it also makes a statement. I love that I can dress it up with jeans and a T-shirt just as easily as I do with an evening look.” M: Is there a piece of jewellery you cannot part ways with? RM: “The earrings that were passed down to me by my mother when I was eight years old. They’re a simple pair of studs, but they are just so beautiful, and they always remind me of the moment when I received them.”

M: Lastly, what are you looking to manifest in the near future?

RM: “This year has been eventful. I am manifesting more work opportunities and family time. I hope my fans continue to love me the way they do, and for kindness to prevail over everything else in the world… I hope to shine in ways that not only help me grow but also inspire and uplift those around me.
