Kangana Ranaut And Shalini Passi Wore The Same Printed Sari—And It’s Making For An Elegant Evening Look
The drape was a Masaba signature in the 2010s!
Kangana Ranaut recently stepped out in a beautiful printed sari from the brand The Silk Story for the promotions of her upcoming movie “Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata”. The black and white polka-dotted sari was peppered with colourful flowers. Leaning into the vintage aesthetic of the sari, she styled it with a beautiful multi-layered pearl choker, a pair of huge studs, a tiny bindi, and a classic 60s-inspired ponytail, while keeping her make-up minimal.
Interestingly, Shalini Passi also wore the same sari before this. Like Kangana, she chose to lean into the vintage vibe for the look. She styled the sari with a cameo pendant, matching cameo earrings, two layers of dainty diamond necklaces, and her signature vintage ponytail. While Kangana chose to wear a strappy blouse in the same print as the sari, Shalini wore a plain white turtleneck blouse.
The look is elegant and throws light on how the printed drape will be big this season. Not to forget, if Satya Paul’s recent showcase in London which was a masterclass in print galore—and the love that it got is anything to go by—printed saris are not going anywhere anytime soon.
Here are other celebrities in printed saris
Quite recently, Madhuri Dixit was also seen wearing a summery, printed floral sari in the most beautiful shades of pink and green. It was fresh, vibrant, and super effortless. Take a look from the actress’ look and opt for a subtle, semi-transparent print.
Another take on the style is this beautiful red sari on actress Rasika Dugal, which denotes that you can go for a more conspicuous print.
Alternatively, you can ditch florals for a more earthy print, like Ajrakh, Ikat, or Pichhwai. Exhibit A: This simple yet beautiful sari on Dia Mirza.
If being artistic and ornate is more your thing, go for this Kalamkari sari on Sonam Kapoor.
If you are planning to wear a sari for a wedding function, it may be the right time to choose from a number of stylish, printed options.
