At the FDCI Manifest Wedding Weekend, the designer returns with slick metallics, experimental materials, and a bold new bridal mood.

Few designers have redefined the idea of bridalwear quite like Rimzim Dadu. With her signature play on materials, think sculpted metallics, wire textiles, and textile engineering, Dadu’s designs are anything but conventional.
In 2025, her label continues to push boundaries with bold bridal statements that celebrate personality over tradition. As she prepares to showcase at the FDCI Manifest Wedding Weekend, Manifest caught up with the designer to talk about fearless fashion, experimental textures, and why comfort should never be compromised.
Manifest: What inspires you to create every day?
Rimzim Dadu: I love to work hands-on with different materials, and it's just the tactile experience of working with different materials that keeps me going every day.
M: How has bridal couture evolved for Rimzim Dadu over the years?
RD: Over the past few years, we've been seeing a lot of brides who are way more confident and who want to let their personality shine on the big day. They don't want to follow the trends, and they’re really out there to make a statement. So, we are getting a lot of these fun experimental brides, and it's such a joy to create customised couture for these brave, fearless women and men.
M: What fun elements can we expect from your upcoming showcase?
RD: There's a lot of cocktail dressing, so there's a lot of textured high glam metallic couture for cocktail dressing.
M: Three things to-be-weds need to know when choosing their wedding look?
RD: One thing you need to know is, are you comfortable in the outfit? Because if you're comfortable, it shows on your face. If you're not comfortable, it shows on your face. So, I think the first is comfort. Second is the versatility of the outfit. Are you going to be able to wear it again? In another way, in different ways? And third is, of course, if you are in love with it and if it matches the vision you've had for yourself for a long time.
M: Last year, we had some really fun elements in your showcase, like the French shoes, the bag. What are three trends that we will spot from Rimzim Dadu this time?
RD: Three trends that you will be seeing from me this time are super slick, structured metallic couture, and this time our inspiration is more tribal folk-based. So, you're going to see a lot of those elements in our couture, but done in contemporary ways and last is, of course, crazy materials.
M: What is your favourite part about Indian weddings?
RD: It has to be food, and I would be very wary of someone who says anything other than food.
