Roseroom by Isha Jajodia opened Day 2 of Hyundai India Couture Week 2025 in association with Reliance brands, an initiative of FDCI, with her collection, Whispers Of Love To Myself. Tara Sutaria was Jajodia’s muse and showstopper who wore the idea of a courtier’s self-love stitched in lace and gold.

For Jajodia, this was not just couture but rather a manifesto of strength and power. The collection unfolded in four chapters: Dear Innocence, To My Becoming, With Love, Always, and I Am. The collection traced a woman’s journey back to herself.

The show began with a monologue with the tune of La Vie en Rose by Édith Piaf.  A voice spoke lines about a woman born tame who learns to step soft, then bold, who sheds the past like skin and becomes her own architect. It ended with: 'I am a tapestry of light. I am a woman who knows her worth and wears it like couture, timeless and hers.'

The set was designed by none other than Sumant Jayakrishnan, who brought this vision to life. The runway was a lace dream, from the floor to glass-enclosed roses and candles wrapped in delicate lace.

Rooted in the timeless language of lace, the collection celebrates inner beauty and the power of self-acceptance. Each piece speaks in hushed tones with structured Roseroom corsets rich with intricate details, softened with billowing layers and intricate textures paired with fluid forms. The palette breathes delicacy in blush tones, whites and ivory.

Silhouettes ranged from voluminous skirts and sharply tailored corsets to reimagined saris, fluid jackets, sculpted blouses and lace-draped capes. The collection also nodded to the spirit of the 1920s with flapper-inspired dresses that added a sense of playful freedom. The traditional drapes had contemporary cuts with details like lehengas with pockets.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.
