After making waves (literally) with their last collection,‘Couture Series IV’, Shivan & Narresh are back with another line that’s perfect for anyone who wants to ditch convention. The designer duo’s ‘Aurorays’ is here to add a touch of psychedelic vibrancy to your wedding season wardrobe.
Inspired by Finland’s Northern Lights, the collection is an extension of the brand’s tradition of focussing on holiday lifestyles. It features bold cuts, flowing and fluid silhouettes, embellished voluminous gowns and pre-draped saris.

Decoding Aurorays With Shivan & Narresh
Manifest: Tell us about the inspiration behind Aurorays.
Narresh: In 2022, Shivan and I embarked on our first Scandinavian adventure to Finland. ‘Aurorays’ is inspired by the breathtaking Northern lights of Finland. The print reimagines kaleidoscopic artistry through a classical technique of painting acrylic on varied mediums. This psychedelic effect unfolds as strands of light which reminisce with the Northern lights of Finland. Textured through handpainted meandering strokes on elegant fabrics that symbolise the movement of light waves, the collection embraces spirited escapes and celebrations for modern connoisseurs.

M: What are some stand-out pieces from this collection that define the Shivan & Narresh brand?
N:‘Aurorays’ is a harmonious blend of modern artistry and unbridled glamour. Staying true to the brand's core aesthetic, this immersive experience transcends mere fashion, weaving a tale of contemporary vibrance bound to leave a striking impression. Bold cuts, flowing silhouettes, and hand-painted waves create a captivating dance of light and colour as ‘Aurorays’ reveals its majestic narrative. N:Weddings are such special moments where the bride and groom deserve to fully embrace every experience. For brides, choosing the right attire is essential to ensure they can enjoy the day without stress. We believe brides should wear outfits that are both comfortable and glamorous. ‘Aurorays’ collection showcases effortless silhouettes that are perfect for wedding wardrobes—whether it’s mehendi or cocktail night. From embellished micro bustiers paired with pre-draped saris, skirts, and voluminous knitted lehengas in luminous colours, the vibrant elegance of draped gowns, each ensemble makes an unforgettable fashion statement. For grooms, ombre-hued kurta sets with intricate skeinwork create head-turning looks, making a striking statement throughout the wedding festivities.

M: What are some trends that you predict will dominate bridal trousseau trends in 2025?
N:We believe that the brides of 2025 will prioritise comfort and effortless elegance on their special day, embracing minimalist, edgy, yet stylish looks. Today’s bride is more empowered and confident than ever before, eager to make bold style statements and challenge societal norms. Whether through a modern approach to dressing or a seamless blend of contemporary and traditional elements, she has the freedom to create a wedding style that makes her feel both confident and beautiful. Embracing her beauty in a refined way, she may choose to showcase her natural self or experiment with contemporary styling—ultimately, she should feel beautiful in every moment. Bold and edgy silhouettes, like corsets and embellished draped gowns, will rule perfectly for cocktail nights. Veils too will make a comeback as a bridal statement accessory, with intricate embellishments designed to extend the beauty of the bridal outfits.
