The second day of the Hyundai India Couture Week 2025, in association with Reliance brands, an initiative of FDCI, was marked by a lineup of an elegant two-part display of meticulously curated fashion statements. Spearheaded by Isha Jajodia’s Roseroom, the second show was an iconic Suneet Varma special. With his awe-striking collection inspired by twilight, enchantment and the magic of femininity, Suneet Varma has created an elegant yet soothing effect. A careful blend of the moonlit hues, intricate handwork and fluid silhouettes, his collection was not just a fashion statement, this evening, but it created an energy of its own as it wove a unique story that left the audience in awe.

Suneet Varma brought the house down with his collection, and the set, just as much of a statement as the couture, was a dreamscape installation-sculpted in all white, featuring a meticulously crafted paper fantasy with exotic leaves, floating vines, grounded flora and the elegant birds, creating a lush environment and giving it a touch of an enchanted snowy paper forest. Taking it a notch further, every movement of the models from within the paper jungle felt like spotting an animal in a real jungle.

Staying true to his signature style with a careful blend of drama and detail, Suneet Varma unveiled a collection that wowed his audience with not only unique silhouettes but also oversized headpieces in the shapes of birds, including life-like swans and crows, crafted with intricate structures of beads and other careful details.

Another standout piece from his collection that complemented the ensembles was the shoulder pads with pearl embellishments. His collection was marked by new silhouettes that were bolder, including corsets that were paired with flowing lehengas, reaching for a modern twist on the traditional wear, just like a modern bride would like.

Besides, one of the other highlights of Suneet Varma’s Sehr collection was the Kaftans. Loose, luxurious and cascading shimmer, each piece from the collection reflected traditional fashion with a modern spin. A celebration of the over-the-top glamour, his pieces, from shimmering fabrics to embellished statement pieces, were symbols of the intricate craftsmanship and storytelling.

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.

The fact that it comes with band, baaja and baraat — what's not to love? And that is the reason our first issue celebrates:
    THE NEW BRIDE.
