If there is one thing we can all agree to it’s that Indian weddings happen to be some of the most lavish and culturally rich weddings to exist. Everything from the decor and traditions to the attire and accessories is a marvel and feast to the eyes. Brides, who are at the centre of the extravaganza, have the perfect opportunity to play around with fashion and accessories to meld their styles with traditions.

Speaking of brides with all eyes on them, Radhika Merchant has been giving us one iconic look after the other. Her upcoming nuptials with Anant Ambani have been preceded by much-talked-about pre-wedding festivities and have allowed us to get inspiration for our wedding season-style mood boards. For the latest pre-wedding ceremony, the mameru, Radhika wore a Manish Malhotra lehenga with jewels her mom wore at her own mameru ceremony. While the whole ensemble and jewels were stunning, as per usual, it was the ones on her hair that caught our eye.

Hair accessories and jewellery have been a part of our culture for the longest, from theparandi, to thegajraandmaang tikka. Our history is full of stunning ways in which brides adorn their hair. More recently, style-conscious brides have taken to adding modern twists to their hair accessories.

Take for instance how early last year, Masaba Gupta got married to Satyadeep Mishra and wore these ethereal Anatina hair pins for her wedding.

In fact, she isn't the only one to have popularized the concept of hair pins and embellishments. Nita Ambani adorned her hair with Deepa Gurnani'sNorth Earringsfor Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's pre-wedding celebrations.

Apart from this, we've recently seen celebrities such as Alia Bhatt, Karisma Kapoor, and Natasha Poonawala wear stunningmaang tikaasand hair jewellery.

Bhatt attended the Met Gala this year in a mint-green Sabyasachi sari paired with jewellery by the same label. Themaang tikaathat struck the perfect balance between regalness and minimalism is still on top of our wishlist.

Then there's the OG 'It' girl, the real Ka-rizz-ma Kapoor. For Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's pre-wedding celebrations, Karisma wore a stunning Manish Malhotra off-white sariand jacket with MM jewellery too.

Natasha Poonawala wore a stunning braid adornment by Abhilasha Jewellery at Radhika Merchant's Haastakshar ceremony.

Accessorising your braids with jewellery is a great way to cop the trend and look beautifully extra at any wedding (or pre-wedding) ceremony you get invited to this season.

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.
