Kate Middleton has used her public appearances to make statements in the past, whether it's championing sustainable fashion by repeating clothes or paying tribute to her royal family.

Recently, the Princess of Wales welcomed the Emir of Qatar alongside Prince William. For the occasion, she wore a burgundy coat dress by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.

She paired it with a Sahar Millinery beret and a Chanel quilted bag. While the look was striking on its own, her choice of jewellery made it stand out.

Kate wore jewellery from the late Queen Elizabeth with the look, including a pair of pearl drop earrings and a four-strand pearl choker. The pearl choker was a Garrard piece that was made using pearls from Japan. The choker also has a connection to Kate’s mother-in-law Princess Diana, who wore it for many royal engagements. The earrings, however, have a special connection to Queen Elizabeth II’s wedding.

When the Queen got married to Phillip Mountbatten in 1947, the royal couple received many lavish presents from around the world. One of them was a cache of seven pearls. The Hakim of Bahrain presented the queen with the pearls in a shell on her wedding day. The queen had two of the pearls turned into drop earrings paired with diamond studs and round and baguette-cut diamonds.

The monarch wore the earrings many times, most famously for her first Royal Command portrait by Dorothy Wilding in 1952.

Kate Middleton has also worn the earrings and choker set for Prince Phillip’s funeral in 2021 and the Queen’s funeral in 2022.

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.
