In a recent Instagram post, Bella Hadid gave a sneak peek of an upcoming campaign for her fragrance label Orebella. The model’s glossy manicure immediately caught our attention. The sheer nude mid-length square-shaped nails signalled the resurgence of the ‘Rich Girl’ nails.
What are ‘Rich Girl’ nails?
Coined by celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik, the ‘rich girl’ nails are characterised by a minimal yet polished and chic look. Nail artist to stars like Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez and Hailee Steinfeld, Tom Bachik first introduced the manicure trend to the world when he did J-Lo’s nails in the style back in 2022.
The tapered, square-shaped nails painted with a creamy beige polish were an instant hit.
How to get ‘Rich Girl’ nails?
According to Tom Bachik, the key is the colour choice. It has to be subtle yet notable enough to convey that you made an effort. In an interview with Popsugar, the manicurist shared that he likes to choose a tone that’s either one shade lighter or darker than your skin.
This makes the nails muted yet deliberate. After applying the polish evenly on your nails, you can seal the manicure with a glossy top coat. You can experiment with toned-down ombré effects or varying nail shapes for the manicure.
