From Meryl Streep wearing the iconic ‘Cerulean sweater’ for the promotions of The Devil Wears Prada 2, to Zendaya wearing a beautiful Schiaparelli dress for her ‘Something Blue' for the promotions for her movie ‘The Drama’, and Jules and Rue wearing the stunning baby blue outfits in ‘Euphoria’, blue has vehemently established its reign this year.

We’re not even halfway into the year, and blue has already popped up across a bunch of noteworthy pop culture moments across the board. Another micro trend within the blue umbrella is blue eyeshadows, and multiple runways, brand campaigns, and celebrity appearances have reiterated that.

For the blue Schiaparelli dress for her 'Something Blue' earlier this year, Zendaya opted for matching accessories: blue bird-inspired pumps from Schiaparelli and blue earrings from Tiffany & Co.. What really caught our eye, however, was her blue eyeshadow. Her dramatic, shimmery eyeshadow was a pop of silver and blue, with lots of saturated color sitting on the inner corners of her eyes.

Earlier this year, Chanel also launched its Denim Makeup collection. The limited edition collection featured different beauty products like lipstick, nail paint, eyeshadow palette, and mascara in shades of blue, with beautiful denim packaging. One of the campaign images featured a dramatic eye make-up look, further solidifying the trend.

We also saw the blue eyeshadow on a lot of runways recently. Exhibit A: this look from the Annu Sui SS26 collection, with light, shimmery blue eyeshadow that extends till the eyebrows, paired with matching mascara.

If exaggerated blue eyeshadow with matching blue mascara sounds like a bit much for you, take a cue from this look from the Talu Coker FW26 collection, and go for a subtle approach to the trend.

You can even take inspiration from this Eckhaus Latta FW26, and go for light and dark patches of the same shade.
