Get The Look: Naina’s Lehenga From Aditi’s Mehendi in ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’

You know you love it!

Jan 4, 2025
  • Certain things inevitably cross my mind while watching Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Like how it is truly important to step out of your comfort zone in order to experience great things, how Aditi is better than me because I would have never chosen being loved over the beauty that is Aditya Roy Kapoor, how Bunny is actually a man child who only thinks about himself (still going to ship him with Naina though, idc), how Ranbir walking away from weddings is a trope at this point, how you can not have everything in life and you just have to make the most of what you have, and so on.

One such thing is how Naina’s style game will always be top-tier. I mean, there are a few absurdities—Naina wearing a mini skirt while trekking, but also wearing a shrug over her very modest dress when a guy walks into the room (that’s how you know she’s written by a man)—but all in all, Naina had a great personal style. Naina’s style game, much like her character, truly comes into its own in the second half of the movie. Her outfits for Aditi’s wedding were all stunning—from her red sangeet outfit, her blue cocktail saree (which was knocked off heavily btw), and her red wedding outfit.

One outfit that deserves more appreciation though, was her mehendi outfit. For Aditi’s mehendi, she wore a colour-block pink and yellow lehenga with a bandeau blouse and skirt with multiple borders that looked sexy and effortless. As Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani re-releases in theatres, we are here to show you how you can recreate the look

You can go for this beautiful colour-block lehenga by Priyal Prakash with a pink blouse and skirt with panels in multiple colours.

However, if you love Naina’s bandeau blouse, you can also go for this embroidered lehenga by Paulmi and Harsh.

Like Naina, you can pair your lehenga with a potli bag. However, go for an embroidered bag instead of a plain one to go with your slighly more elaborate lehenga. Add a pair of gold earrings, a big stack of pink bangles, and a beautiful pair of juttis and you’re good to go!

So fans of Naina Talwar, please go ahead, make your pick, and recreate what was one of her most beautiful looks from the movie.

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.
