Dear grooms, presenting some major wedding inspiration and dance moves, courtesy Ranbir Kapoor and Tasva's all-new collection
It’s not your regular fashion show, it’s a fashion ‘Baaraat’! With dhol, baja and escorts dressed in the designer label, actor Ranbir Kapoor led a dramatic groom procession for Tasva by Aditya Birla Fashion Retail Ltd in collaboration with designer Tarun Tahiliani. The label unveiled its Autumn/ Winter wedding collection at the majestic Travancore Palace in New Delhi.
The designer knows well how to cater to the needs of modern Indian men in classic Tahiliani fashion—with a focus on comfort alongside just the right dose of opulence. While speaking to Manifest, Tarun Tahliani revealed, “We want the groom to feel comfortable, I don’t think people should dress up like in a costume play! That’s the role of an actor, people should dress in their style so that this is an easy luxury in this space.”
Inspired by Romanesque architecture and abstract art, the brand offers a diverse range of intricately woven silhouettes with Aari work, mirror work, Zardosi embroidery to pearl embellishments on Kurtas, Bundi sets and Sherwanis. We spotted hues of soft pastels like ivory, gold, lilac and jade making it perfect for a day wedding ceremony. There were also deep jewel tones ideal for a cocktail party.
As the evening went by, we spotted Vihaan Samat, best known for his role in the Netflix series Call Me Bae and Mismatched on the ramp in a powder pink sherwani, well-known comedian and YouTuber Anubhav Singh Bassi in a dashing all-black look, Michelin Star Chef Suvir Saran adorned an Ivory Sherwani while the digital influencers, Digital content creator Apoorva popularly known as The Rebel Kid’ was seen wearing a future-forward navy blue blazer paired with a black corset. Digital content creators Manav Chhabra and Unnati Malharkar walked together twinning in shimmery blue ensembles capturing the essence of Tasva.
In an exclusive interview with Manifest, Ranbir shared how a wedding is a memory of a lifetime, “When we see our own or anybody’s wedding pictures, we go back in time as soon as we see it, it reminds us of how well it turned out and the nice time we had.”
Overall, the evening turned out to be a memorable one for the spectators, with an over-the-top showcase with hero dance moves and a pinch of drama! We are totally in for a minimalistic approach to groomswear, from muted mustard kurta sets perfect for a Haldi ceremony to deep-toned shimmery jackets for a cocktail, Tasva has mastered the art of modern Indian occasion wear.
