Once considered a relic of boho chic, fringe shoes are back and bolder than ever! These playful and stylish shoes are sashaying their way into closets and onto the streets, adding a fun and flirty twist to every step.

While boots with tassels and fringing have been around for a while, we’re talking about full-on tasseled heels making this a trend perfect for anyone looking to add a touch of movement and personality to their footwear.

Recently, designer Rimzim Dadu presented her collection ‘Stucco’ at the Hyundai India Couture Week, in association with Reliance Brands, where she reminded us once again why fringe shoes are the one ‘It’ accessory we need in our wardrobes this season.

Wondering how to style them? The key is to let the fringe do the talking. While SJP would pair a fun fuschia pair with a voluminous midi skirt and hat, we recommend easing into the trend with a slightly simpler outfit to let the shoes do the talking. Elevate something as basic as a pair of blue skinny jeans and an oversized white shirt with a colourful pair of fringe heels for a casual chic daytime look, and maybe a slinky slip dress with a fringed pair for a flirty yet fun date night. FYI, this trend isn’t just limited to heels!

Feel free to experiment with fringe sandals that could complete the perfect denim-on-denim look, or a pair of fringed loafers you can throw on with a shirt dress or shorts! The possibilities are endless so don’t be afraid to play with colors, textures and silhouettes as the key to nailing fringe is to have fun!

To help you find your perfect match, we’ve curated a selection of our favourite fringe shoes that are sure to make a statement. As Carrie Bradshaw famously said, “Men I may not know, but shoes… shoes I know.”
