The designer’s Bridal 2024 collection ‘Raahi’ is an ode to India’s timeless crafts and the modern bride…
Anita Dongre’s muse is a woman who knows what she wants and is unafraid to go for it. It’s no surprise that when it comes to designing for brides, the designer presented an ode to brides who are relaxed and effortlessly elegant.
Her bridal couture collection for 2024, titled ‘Raahi’ takes inspiration from the soul of India’s crafts and highlights the hand-painted art of Pichwai, Badla and Gota Patti from Rajasthan, Bandhani from Gujarat, and the traditional weaves from Banaras.
The collection, comprising hand-crafted lehengas, contemporary dresses, kurta sets, sharara sets, saris, and suit sets, is perfect for a bridal trousseau for someone who values comfort as much as style. The light and easy silhouettes have been reimagined from classic attires like traditional cholis, Rajasthani kotis, aabhas etc in pastel shades, bridal reds, and the brand’s iconic electric blue.
“This collection not only celebrates the unparalleled beauty of Indian craftsmanship but also champions the artisans whose skilled hands bring these timeless creations to life. Our cultural inheritance and legacy lie in these crafts and it is our duty to preserve and promote them,” said the designer.
Anita Dongre is going to showcase at the FDCI Manifest Wedding Weekend. It’s an invite-only event which will be held at the Taj Palace, New Delhi, on August 3-4, 2024. For an invitation, register here or reach out at fmww@rpsg.in.
