Photographer, storyteller, and the creative force behind Nitin Arora Photography (NAP), Nitin Arora is a luxury wedding filmmaker with over 15 years of experience. He seeks to redefine how love stories are documented with his brand, transforming wedding photography into a distinct art form of its own.

Nitin began his career as a media journalist, holding a master’s degree in journalism, before transitioning into the corporate sphere with Reebok. What was initially a chance request to photograph a senior’s wedding turned into a life-altering opportunity that changed the course of his life, igniting a passion that led him to dedicate himself fully to photography. His work, now popular amongst couples for his ability to capture raw emotions, is known for its balanced approach towards artistry and authenticity, which is built on genuine relationships with couples that allow their most intimate moments to take the centre stage.

Not just that, Nitin is also the Creative Producer of WED FM India, the country’s first wedding podcast, where he fosters a culture based on storytelling, education and accountability within the industry. He has been a Canon Ambassador and has won the title of Wedding Photographer of the year, not one but multiple times. An inspiration for many, Nitin believes that life and photography are all about celebrating connection, authenticity, and joy.

In Conversation with Wedding Photographer Nitin Arora

Manifest: Your journey began in journalism and unexpectedly transitioned into photography. How did that shift shape your storytelling lens today?

Nitin Arora: My journey into luxury wedding photography in India began completely unexpectedly. While working at Reebok, one of my senior managers once said, ‘I don’t know any other photographer, could you please shoot my wedding?’ That simple request transformed my world — from corporate life and commercial briefs into the universe of wedding storytelling. I quickly discovered that documenting love, emotions, and human connections had far more depth than any brand campaign. That defining moment became the foundation of Nitin Arora Photography, a brand now recognised for editorial wedding photography, destination weddings, and timeless luxury wedding storytelling.

Today, every frame we create is designed not just as an image, but as an enduring story of love and legacy.

M: Do you remember the moment you realised wedding photography could be more than documentation, that it could be art?

NA: I remember the moment I realised that wedding photography in India could be more than documentation, it felt like standing in front of a blank canvas. At first, you think you’re just filling it with colours, but then you realise every stroke has meaning, every detail carries emotion. That’s when I understood that luxury wedding photography is not just about capturing rituals, it’s about creating art that preserves love and legacy. A bride’s tear, a father’s smile, or the quiet pause between vows — these are brushstrokes in a much larger painting. At Nitin Arora Photography, we approach every wedding like a masterpiece in the making, blending editorial storytelling with timeless luxury so that the final work is not just a memory, but a piece of art.

M: Coming from the world of media and corporate life, how did those early experiences influence the way you approach weddings now?

NA: My early years in media and corporate life shaped the way I approach every wedding today. Journalism taught me how to find the heart of a story, while the corporate world trained me to work with discipline, structure, and precision.

Weddings are like live broadcasts — there are no retakes. That experience helps me manage high-profile luxury weddings in India with calmness under pressure, while still focusing on creativity and emotion. At Nitin Arora Photography, this blend of professionalism and artistry allows us to deliver editorial wedding storytelling that feels both timeless and intentional.

M: You often describe luxury not as extravagance, but as intention and emotion. How did you arrive at that philosophy, and how does it guide your work?

NA: For us, luxury has never meant extravagance; it has always meant intention and emotion. We arrived at this philosophy through our own journey as storytellers. Nitin came from journalism and corporate life, where he learned discipline, structure, and how to capture stories with truth. Shanaya brought in her background of people, culture, and emotional detail. Together, we realised that the most powerful moments at a wedding are not the grand chandeliers or designer outfits, but the way a father holds back his tears, the intimacy of private vows, or the laughter of friends on the dance floor.

At Nitin Arora Photography (NAP), this belief has become our core value — to approach luxury weddings in India not as staged spectacles, but as deeply intentional stories. Our work blends editorial wedding photography with authenticity, ensuring every image feels both stylish and soulful.

M: Many couples say you become more of a friend than a photographer. How does building that trust influence the stories you capture?

NA: One of the unique strengths of Nitin Arora Photography is that we don’t just work as photographers; we work as a couple. When brides and grooms see Nitin and Shanaya capturing their wedding side by side, it instantly builds comfort and relatability. They don’t feel like they’re posing for strangers; they feel like they’re sharing their story with friends who truly understand love, partnership, and emotion. That dynamic of working as a couple allows us to build trust faster, making couples open up, laugh freely, and show their most vulnerable sides. And that trust is what turns ordinary pictures into authentic luxury wedding storytelling. For us, luxury has never been about staged perfection; it’s about real, intentional, emotional connections. That’s why so many couples say, ‘You didn’t just capture our wedding, you lived it with us.

M: What inspires you creatively — are there details outside of weddings that shape the way you frame a narrative?

NA: We’ve never believed that inspiration lives only inside weddings — it comes from everywhere. Sometimes it’s the way my mom speaks to me, sometimes it’s the way our cat curls up next to us, sometimes it’s the colours of a street market when we travel, or the elegance of a fashion editorial we’re shooting. For Nitin, cinema has always been a teacher — it shows how to frame emotion through light and drama. For Shanaya, inspiration comes from people, fashion, and her ability to visualise stories even before they unfold.

At Nitin Arora Photography, we bring all these influences back into our craft. That’s why our luxury wedding photography in India feels global yet deeply personal — because it’s not just shaped by rituals, but by life itself. Every frame we capture carries a little bit of the world we see, the people we love, and the art that inspires us. And when those elements blend, a wedding stops being an event and becomes an editorial story of emotion, culture, and timeless connection.

M: Through WED FM India, you’ve created a space for conversations within the industry. How do you see storytelling through podcasts complementing your visual storytelling?

NA: So Shanaya always wanted to create something that went beyond the glossy side of weddings and spoke about the real issues. That’s how WED FM India was born — as India’s first dedicated wedding podcast. From day one, our mission was to talk about things people often ignored, starting with the unethical practices that exist within the wedding industry. Those conversations sparked real change because when issues are voiced openly, the community begins to hold itself accountable.

Today, as a couple, we don’t just see ourselves as podcasters — we see ourselves as building a community-driven wedding media platform. WED FM India has become a space where planners, photographers, designers, and even couples come together to share perspectives, talk about culture, sustainability, mental health, and the evolving business of weddings. For us, storytelling through podcasts complements our photography perfectly.

At Nitin Arora Photography, we freeze emotions in a frame; at WED FM India, we give those emotions and ideas a voice. Together, they create a 360° narrative of what weddings mean today — visually, emotionally, and culturally. And that’s what makes WED FM India not just a podcast, but a movement shaping the future of weddings in India.

M: Technology and aesthetics in photography are constantly evolving. How do you ensure your work remains both current and enduring?

NA: In the world of luxury wedding photography in India, technology and aesthetics are constantly evolving — but the essence of what we do has never changed: capturing human emotion. At Nitin Arora Photography, we embrace every new tool, from the latest Canon innovations to AI-powered workflows, because they allow us to push creative boundaries. But we never let technology overshadow the heart of a story.

What makes our work both current and enduring is this balance. We adopt modern techniques to stay trend-forward, while grounding every image in authenticity, intimacy, and timeless beauty. Trends come and go, but emotions never go out of style. That’s why our frames — whether captured at a destination wedding in Udaipur or an intimate celebration in Delhi — feel contemporary today and will remain just as powerful decades from now. For us, that is the true marriage of technology and timeless storytelling.

M: Could you walk us through your process when approaching a high-profile wedding?

NA: For us, whether it’s a high-profile luxury wedding or an intimate home celebration, we approach them with the same passion and dedication. Every couple’s story deserves to be told with honesty, care, and artistry. Of course, larger weddings come with more logistics, bigger teams, and complex coordination, but the core of what we do never changes — capturing emotions and turning them into timeless stories.

At Nitin Arora Photography, we don’t differentiate between scale or budget when it comes to the heart of storytelling. A father’s teary smile, a bride’s quiet vows, friends laughing together — these moments matter equally, no matter the size of the wedding. What changes in a high-profile wedding is the planning and structure — we may create detailed mood boards, scout multiple locations, or align with larger teams of planners and designers. But the intention remains constant: to create luxury wedding photography in India that feels personal, emotional, and enduring for every couple we work with.

M: What’s been the most unusual or memorable brief you’ve worked on so far?

NA: One of the most unusual and memorable briefs we’ve worked on at Nitin Arora Photography was designing a wedding story around the five elements of nature: earth, water, fire, air, and space. The couple wanted their luxury wedding to reflect these elements not just in design, but in the emotions and storytelling we captured. It pushed us to move beyond traditional photography and create a luxury wedding narrative in India that was symbolic, artistic, and deeply personal.

The project went on to become one of our most celebrated works in editorial wedding photography, proving that when couples bring unique visions, our role is to turn them into timeless art. For us, these briefs reaffirm why we believe in luxury wedding storytelling in India — because weddings are not just events, they are creative canvases where love, culture, and imagination come together.

M: Life outside work seems to inspire you, too, whether it’s Tekken, dancing with friends, or long drives. Do these playful moments influence the way you view celebration behind the lens?

NA: Life outside work inspires us in more ways than people realise. Nitin is someone who finds joy in simple things like playing Tekken or going for long drives, while Shanaya loves dancing with friends and soaking in the energy of people around her. We’re very different in how we recharge and experience celebration, but that’s exactly what makes our partnership unique. Somewhere in the middle, we always meet — and that balance is what reflects in our work.

At Nitin Arora Photography, those differences allow us to see weddings from two perspectives: one rooted in quiet observation, the other in vibrant energy. Together, we create luxury wedding photography in India that feels both intimate and grand, both playful and emotional. It’s the same philosophy we carry into WED FM India — different voices, different ideas, meeting in the centre to create conversations that matter. For us, celebration isn’t just a wedding day ritual — it’s a way of life, and that’s what makes our storytelling timeless.

M: Looking ahead, what excites you most about the future of editorial storytelling in weddings, and what role do you see yourself playing in shaping that narrative?

NA: What excites us most about the future of editorial storytelling in weddings is the shift from documentation to deeper narratives. Couples today don’t just want photographs; they want their wedding to feel like an editorial feature — something that blends culture, fashion, and emotion into timeless art. We see luxury wedding photography in India evolving into a global language, where every celebration is told like a story that could live on a magazine cover yet remain personal to the couple.

Our role at Nitin Arora Photography is to keep leading that movement — to push boundaries creatively while staying rooted in emotion. And with WED FM India, we’re expanding that storytelling beyond visuals into conversations that shape culture and accountability in the wedding industry. Together, both platforms allow us to redefine luxury weddings not just as events, but as legacies. Looking ahead, what excites us most is that the stories we create today will inspire how the world remembers weddings tomorrow.”
