    Designed by veteran designer Debbie Vingham, for an anonymous buyer in UAE, this cake was priced at an exorbitant sum of 75 million dollars. This lavish birthday cum engagement cake featured a six-foot-long runway along with tiny miniature sculptures showcasing the runway guests and models. What’s more, the cake was covered in 4,000 real diamonds including a 5.2 pink-carat diamond, 6.4 yellow-carat diamond and 15 five-carat diamonds, which gave the sugary treat a sparkle.

    Created by Edda’s Cake Designs, this 10-foot-tall delicacy had a varied range of flavours like red velvet, amaretto, carrot, banana nut, and Jamaican rum in its base. Consisting of 8000 edible sugars and 2500 Swarovski crystals, this sugary delicacy was so iconic that the newlyweds had to use a sword to cut through it. Sold for a price of $75,000 (INR 6.5 crores approx), the four-double tiered layers of the cake had edible crystals hanging from each section which resembled a dramatic chandelier.

    Created by renowned UK baker Fiona Cairns, the eight-tier fruit cake at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding was elegantly decked in white flowers. Though it was a simple fruit cake, the layers of the confection were soaked in white icing and featured 900 sugar paste flowers that gave it a stunning visual appeal. The cake was sold for a a sum of 80,000 US dollars and paid homage to the English culture as it featured 17 different kinds of flowers of the soil including the English rose, Scottish thistle, Welsh daffodil, and Irish shamrock and Lily of the valley with each one having their symbolism.

    When actor Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello tied the knot in Florida in2015, this five-tiered cake invariably stole the spotlight at their wedding. Designed by celebrity cake designer Sylvia Weinstock, the estimated cost of the delicacy is around $65,000 (INR 56 lakhs approx). Covered in white flowers and gold accents, this one is, to date, believed to be the second most expensive wedding cake in the world.

    The 12-tier high red accent cake at Liza Minell’s wedding featured stark white and black coloured stripes of sterling silver leaves and a multitude of red and purple sugar roses. Sold for a price of $40,000 (INR 35 lakhs approx), this delicacy consisted of stark white and black colours which gave it a stunning visual appeal.

    One of the many extravagant details of Princess Diana and Prince Charles' wedding in 1981 was the wedding cake. Designed by David Avery of the Royal Naval Cookery School, the five-feet-tall delicacy featured edible creations consisting of roses, lilies of the valley, orchids, and the Prince’s family’s royal coat of arms. It was priced at almost $40,000 (INR 34 lakhs approx).  Fun fact- there was also a duplicate of this delicacy at the wedding venue created to compensate for any unforeseen mishaps that occurred during the wedding festivities.

    Actor Eddie Murphy's wedding cake seemed straight out of a fairytale. Back in 1993, the decadent delicacy was beautifully decked with a multitude of edible pastel flowers. The cake was priced at $25,000 (INR 21 lakhs).

    Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries’ infamous 72-day-long wedding had a remarkable wedding cake. It was an eight-feet-tall chocolate chip marble cake, decorated with black and white tiers and buttercream frosting. Designed by Patrick Hansen, the cake was priced at $20,000 (INR 17 lakhs approx).

    Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s extravagant wedding ceremony had many details that made it to bridal mood boards from Mumbai to Manhattan, like the stunning 75-foot veil on the bride’s Ralph Lauren gown or the breathtaking cake. Inspired by the design of the Umaid Bhawan Palace where the duo held their nuptials, the six-tiered cake stood at a staggering height of 18 feet. Made by Nick Jonas’s personal chefs from Dubai,  the cake featured gold columns, windows and a miniature chandelier and seemed straight out of a fairy tale. Reportedly, it was priced at $19,000 (INR 16 lakhs).
