Wedding trends may come and go but it seems like bridal entries to a curated soundtrack are here to stay. And we’re not complaining!

Whether it was Anushka Sharma walking to the mandap to the song ‘Din Shagna’ at her Tuscan wedding or Kiara Advani going viral with her performing a choreographed routine to a remixed version of ‘Ranjha’ for her bridal entry, marking your entry at the wedding venue with a special song is a unique way to personalise your nuptials.

“It is not just the brides, but even the grooms want special entries nowadays," says Mumbai-based wedding planner, Nidhi Jani Sahi, “The newlyweds are no longer shy and want to enjoy every bit of the attention they receive on their special day!”

We asked wedding planners, DJs, choreographers and more for their recommendations of the most popular bridal entry songs from recent times. So if you’re looking to land on a song for your wedding, here are all the tracks that will dominate the trends this wedding season…

Bridal Entry Songs That Will Be Popular This Wedding Season

    ‘Madhaniya’ by Rahul Vaidya

A traditional folk Punjabi song, ‘Madhaniya’ reflects what a girl experiences once she leaves her parent’s home and goes to live with her in-laws.

“For all those looking for a slow-paced walk without any musical upbeats, ‘Madhaniya’ fits the bill perfectly,” says Delhi-based wedding choreographer Nishtha Rathi

    ‘O Maahi’ fromDunki

Who hasn’t swooned  to this track from Shah Rukh Khan and Tapsee Pannu starrerDunkiyet?.

Wedding Choreographer Pratyaksha Sharma from Yellow Stripes Dance Academy, Delhi, says,“‘O Maahi’ is a song that perfectly depicts what surrendering oneself for the sake of true love feels like. As marriage is believed to be a bond that is ‘until death do us apart’, through its lyrics it highlights the fact that love prevails while people may come and go.”

‘Kithe Reh Gaya’ by Neeti Mohan

Even the most reluctant non-dancers may find it difficult to resist dancing to this song. For brides who wish to dance their way to the aisle without leaving anyone teary-eyed, this is a perfect choice.

“Apart from being a great choice for bridal entries, ‘Kithe Reh Gaya’ also is a great choice for sangeet functions for bridesmaids who want to perform a special dance for the bride. Also, the happy vibe of the song speaks a lot about a girl's mind, waiting anxiously to be united with her lover which makes it great for bridal entries,” says wedding choreographer Darshan Shah.

    ‘O Piya’ by Parineeti Chopra

Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha’s wedding had many standout moments, but the time when the song, sung by Parineeti herself, played during theirvarmalaceremony was truly special.

“‘O Piya’ is a soothing and peaceful soundtrack with no frenzied beats”, says, Darshan Shah, “Apart from Parineeti’s magical voice what stands out in the song is that it speaks about a girl's mind about how she secretly prepares to unite with her lover since her childhood.”

‘Kudmayi’ by Shahid Mallya (fromRocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani)

“The way Alia Bhatt’s bridal entry was portrayed in the Karan Johar directorial Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani has left an impact on people’s minds, as everybody wants to resemble a celebrity on their wedding day, I feel despite all the songs that come up, people will eventually go back to ‘Kudmayi’ because of the stunning visuals it offered,” says, Delhi-based wedding choreographer Revathi Khatter.

‘Tu Hain Toh’ by Neeti Mohan

This song from the Jahnvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starter Mr and Mrs Mahi emerged as a chartbuster only days after it was released online. The simple, yet meaningful, lyrics of this track speaking about the unspoken unexpressed love shared between two people makes it ideal for bridal entry.

‘Peer Vi Tu’ by Harshdeep Kaur

“This song is an apt choice for brides who are having an intimate wedding”, says Nishtha Rathi, “The lyrics are penned after much thought and also they do not make it too monotonous or boring. The song conveys the larger message that marriage is only between two people and not beyond.”

    ‘Laiyan Laiyan’ by Saad Sultan

“The song‘Laiyaan Laiyaan’ connects with people at many levels, says Darshan Shah, “What makes it a proper bridal entry choice is that it speaks about a girl's mind. The love she has in her heart for her to be husband and what all she has planned for the life lying ahead.”

    ‘Ranjha’ by Jasleen Royal

When Kiara Advani and Siddharth Malhotra were getting married, Vishal Punjabi of The Wedding Filmer helped them create an indelible memory, all by remixing the song ‘Ranjha’ from their film Shershaah. While the song was special for the couple, it has become a go-to for brides who want all-out romance at their weddings.

“‘Ranjha’ will remain a bridal entry favourite for the years to come,” says Revathi Khatter. “Thanks to Kiara Advani for making it cool and romantic both at once, also the song slowly escalates to high notes without coming to an abrupt halt and then gracefully descends which is why it has stood the test of time.”

‘Ve Haaniyaan’ by Danny, Avvy Sra, and Sagar

The song, and its various covers, have been a popular choice for brides for their entries.

“The song highlights the fact that two people were destined to meet for a reason and that nothing could keep them apart. It also speaks a lot about a girl’s mind and the possessiveness she nurtures in her mind of never letting her lover go,” says Pratyakshya Sharma.

So which track are you picking for your bridal entry?

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.
