Janhvi Kapoor and Shikhar Pahariya’s on-and-off relationship has captured the attention of her fans and followers over the years, especially because the two neither confirm nor deny it. The proof is in the pudding, though, as the two are all over each other’s social media pages and have been spotted regularly on dates and trips around the world.
The fact that Janhvi chose to wear a boyfriend necklace (AKA the one with the name or initial of your boyfriend) to a movie premiere that said ‘Shiku’, the pet name she has for Shikhar, just confirms the fact that the two are very much in love.
The Mili actress is enjoying a peaceful getaway in London with Shikhar and her sister Khushi Kapoor. Janhvi took to Instagram to share photos from the trip, including a glimpse at the picture-perfect picnic she enjoyed outdoors and how she loves to steal food from Shikhar’s plate while they eat together.
Janhvi comes from a family of Bollywood icons, including her mother Sridevi and uncle Anil Kapoor. Shikhar Pahariya, too, has a formidable legacy behind him as his grandfather Sushil Kumar Shinde is the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Reportedly, Janhvi and Shikhar grew close as childhood friends, and their bond developed into a relationship as they grew up.
Rumours of Janhvi and Shikhar’s relationship began surfacing in 2016. They didn’t confirm or deny these reports.
According to reports, Janhvi and Shikhar called it quits a little while after the actress made her debut in Bollywood in 2018. She hinted at this in a later appearance on Koffee With Karan.
The couple, reportedly, reunited in 2022 and have been going strong since then, with many joint public appearances.

In 2024, she appeared on an episode of Koffee With Karan and revealed that Shikhar shared a strong bond with her family. She even let it slip that ‘Shikhu’ is on her speed dial. She also revealed that Shikhar is not only a special presence in her life, but also in her family’s. “I won't say that, but I will say this. He is not just for me, but for her (Khushi), for dad and everyone in our family; he has been there from the start as a friend. Not in a way that made me feel like he is expecting anything, or he is a pushover, or any of those things. He was just there in a very selfless, dignified way and in a way that I have not seen many men capable of being there for another human being,” she said.
Later on in the year, Janhvi all but announced her relationship status with Shikhar Phariya to the world when she wore a necklace with the name ‘Shikhu’ on it for a movie screening.
In November 2024, Shikhar Pahariya posted pictures from his Diwali celebrations, which featured Janhvi Kapoor too, hinting that they spent the holiday together.

On her 28th birthday in March 2025, Janhvi shared a picture of the “Best. Gift. Ever”. It was a collection of clay figurines depicting her family and their dogs. The figurine collection also included a clay rendition of Shikhar amongst them.
