Why Does Kate Hudson Want To Stay ‘Engaged Forever’?
The actress, who has been engaged since 2021, has no plans to tie the knot anytime soon…
Is there an ideal engagement length? If Kate Hudson is to be believed, the answer is: The longer, the better!
In a recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, the Bride Wars actress opened up about her wedding plans with fiancé Danny Fujikawa, claiming that she’s in no rush to tie the knot and that she would happily be “engaged forever”.
“I just don't have the same kind of like, 'Oh my God, I'm going to get married, and I can't wait and I can't wait for the party,’” she said. “It's the opposite. I'm like, ‘Okay, I have to plan it and then it's going to cost so much money’ and it's just a lot.”

To be fair, weddings can be an expensive deal. Whether you want a small and intimate affair or a grand do, the costs can cause a serious dip in your bank balance.
However, according to Kate Hudson, the cost is not the only factor in her wanting a long, long engagement. The “contractual” nature of marriage isn’t appealing to her.
“I like the idea of being engaged forever,” she added. “The contractual thing is tough for me. I like my freedom...I like the concept of freedom.”
The actress claimed that she is inspired by her mother, Goldie Hawn, and her partner Kurt Russell’s relationship. “They never signed the contract. They’ve been engaged since I was 7,” she said.
Kate Hudson and Danny Fujikawa have been in a relationship since 2016 and have a daughter together and got engaged in September 2021.
