The Complete Timeline Of Nayanthara And Vignesh’s Relationship
Ahead of the release of ‘Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale’, let’s take a walk down memory lane…
After starring in blockbusters, actress Nayanthara is all set to make her OTT debut with the upcoming Netflix docuseries Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale. Not only will the series chronicle her journey to earning the moniker ‘Lady Superstar’ and her struggles but also give her fans a glimpse at her picture-perfect love story with Vignesh Shivan.
The actress got married to the director back in June 2022. Images from their star-studded ceremony promptly went viral, with the joyful snapshots making us wish to know more about their love story.
The Netflix overlords listened and soon we’d be able to take a peek into the life of the usually reserved superstar (Nayanthara only got on Instagram last year!) and witness their love story first-hand. Their much-anticipated wedding film, shot by The Wedding Filmer, will be featured in the documentary, along with the original song ‘Mangalyam’ which was created especially for the couple.

The couple, who are now parents to twins Uyir and Ulagam, met in 2015 and, ever since then, quickly became one of the most beloved celebrity couples in the country.

As we wait for the docuseries to drop, here’s looking back at Nayanthara and Vignesh’s love story…
Nayanthara and Vignesh’s Relationship Timeline
The couple met on the sets of the 2015 Tamil film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, which starred Nayanthara opposite Vijay Sethupathi and was directed by Vignesh. In an interview post-filming, actor Mansoor Ali Khan revealed that the two would end up talking for hours on the sets of the film.
Amidst rumours of the couple’s budding relationship, the two made their first public appearance together at the 2017 South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) in Singapore. Both Nayanthara and Vignesh won an award and thanked each other in their acceptance speeches on stage, much to their fans’ delight.

Post the award ceremony, Vignesh made their relationship Instagram official by posting pictures from their trips around the world and many (many) date nights.

The two reunited on set for Vignesh’s directorial Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal in 2020.
In March 2021, Vignesh posted a photo on Instagram that sent fans into a tizzy. In the series of photos shared by the director, Nayanthara could be seen wearing an engagement ring. The couple, however, didn’t respond to the rumours of their engagement.

Nayanthara confirmed that they’re engaged to be married in an interview in August 2021.
The stars continued to make public appearances together and enjoy time together, as evidenced by Vignesh’s (many!) heartwarming Instagram posts.

A photo of Nayanthara and Vignesh created a buzz in March 2022. In it, they were posing with a fan at the Kaligambal temple in Chennai. While their appearance at the temple wasn’t unusual, the fact that fans spotted sindoor on the actress led to it going viral immediately and reports of their secret wedding spread like wildfire.

In June 2022, the couple revealed their official wedding date and, soon after, shared snapshots from the ceremony which was attended by celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Rajinikanth, Suriya, and AR Rahman.

The couple continued to share glimpses into their blissful marital life with their fans. In October of the same year, the two welcomed their twin boys, Uyir and Ulagam, via surrogacy.
