It won’t be an exaggeration to say that American football player Travis Kelce and pop star Taylor Swift are one of the most famous couples in the world right now. The talented pair is under constant scrutiny of not only media from around the world, but their collective massive fan bases. Needless to say, the couple is constantly the subject of marriage speculation, with engagement rumours cropping up faster than you can say ‘Swiftie 4 eva’.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have not shied away from public expressions of love, regularly appearing at each other’s big events to show support and going on date nights around town. Despite not hiding their relationship status since they made it official in 2023, the two have also been private about their relationship, choosing to focus on building a strong foundation for their future together.

In a recent interview with GQ, however, Travis Kelce opened up about their relationship and gave rare insights into what makes them tick. The football player began by reflecting on his parents’ divorce and their partnership as a couple. They were always the ultimate partners in terms of being there for us as kids,” he said. “There was no division in terms of anger at each other. I think the romance of it all might’ve just kind of faded, being so focused on their careers and raising a family. It’s probably hard for parents to keep that romance, especially when you've got kids that are into f***ing everything, you know?”

While he understood why his parents had to part ways, he revealed that he is hopeful about building a successful long-term relationship of his own. “The handful of my friends whose parents are still together and still thriving—those are situations I would love to have,” he said. “Not that I think my parents dealt with it the wrong way or anything like that. It's more so, if we're gonna start this and do it, why not try and do it to last forever? Not just in a 'It's just for the kids' aspect.”

Travis Kelce then went on to share how his ideal partner would embody many traits he admires in his mother. When the interviewer probed further about whether Taylor Swift and his mother, Donna Kelce, share any traits like that, he replied affirmatively. He shared, “Their kindness, their genuineness, their ability to say hello to everyone in the room. Their ability to show love and support no matter what. And on top of that, their work ethic.”

He also expressed his admiration for Taylor Swift and what makes them right for each other. “When I say it was so organic, we fell in love just based off the people we were sitting in a room together with,” he said in the interview. “We are two fun-loving people who have the morals to appreciate everyone for who they are. We share all those values.”

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.
