Minimoon Guide for January and February

Where to go:

The Dolomites Winter, when done right, feels like living inside a snow globe with steaming hot chocolate, roaring fireplaces, and mornings that start in the spa and end under the stars. While I’ve had unforgettable moments in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, and Courchevel, France, I’m choosing the Dolomites in Italy as my recommendation. It’s one of the places where luxury, value, and natural beauty converge.

Where to stay:

Alpin Panorama Hotel Hubertus

Alpin Panorama Hotel Hubertus

Alpin Panorama Hotel Hubertus is a family-run hideaway perched among the peaks that quietly rewires your definition of luxury. It isn’t loud, but rather stitched into details like the heated infinity sky pool suspended in the air, the panoramic views from every window, and the impeccable meals that taste better after a day spent out in the crisp mountain air. After skiing the Sella Ronda circuit and tackling some of Dolomites’ most beautiful hiking trails, I indulged in their Heaven & Hell Sky Spa, a two-level retreat with saunas and three whirlpools facing the mountains. Talk about a delicious form of living! The Dolomites in winter offer alpine romance at its finest, making it an unforgettable destination for couples who crave snow-dusted adventure by day and sky-high spa sessions by night.

What to eat:

Dining here blends Alpine heartiness with refined Italian flairWhether it’s a humble mountain hut or a Michelin-level culinary journey, there’s a common thread between all: authenticity, breathtaking views, and ingredients that celebrate the land.

Gipfel Cima

This place served me the best pizza I’ve eaten—and yes, that includes frequent trips to Italy! Crisped to perfection, rich in flavour, I loved it so much, we went back twice.

Lumen

Enjoy a unique experience of mountain cuisine at the home of Cook the Mountain (championing regional, seasonal

Alpine ingredients and transforming mountain traditional into refined, sustainable cuisine), the philosophy conceived by chef Norbert Niederkofler.

Corones Hütte

Hearty South Tyrolean delicacies served with sweeping mountain views — this place is charming and authentic, where a plate of polenta or dumplings tastes 10 times better after a morning in the snow.

What to do:

Ski Across The Sella Ronda

We made our way across the Sella Ronda, 40 km of interlinked slopes winding through four valleys. Skiing here is the perfect combination of adrenaline and awe-inspiring views, sprinkled along the red and black runs that carve through storybook villages and endless stretches of untouched snow.

Hikes

Don’t ski? Fret not as the Dolomites offer some of Europe’s most soul-searching hikes. Passo Giau to Monte Mondeval takes you across a plateau of soaring limestone peaks, with a stop at the serene Lago delle Baste. Viel del Pan Trail was once an ancient smugglers’ route, but now gives you unreal views of the Marmolada Glacier and shimmering Fedaia Lake.

Where to shop:

Perfect Moment

Mountain minimoons are as much about the aprèsski looks as they are about the snow. The trick? Looking fabulous in freezing temps, while staying comfortable indoors — trust me, every alpine chalet and restaurant is toasty. Start with a great ski suit—brands like Perfect Moment, Goldbergh, and Moncler are my go-tos. One of my favourites was a showstopping suit from Ela’f Istanbul
