This year has been especially great for Formula 1 fans! Aside from an exciting season, Netflix’s hit series Drive To Survive has ushered in a new wave of fans for the races. With Lewis Hamilton breaking his 946-day winless streak in his home country in Silverstone and Charles Leclerc scoring an unexpected win at Monza, this year has kept us all on the edge of our seats!  And if you and your partner have been following F1 together, and are super enthusiastic about the international open-wheel, single-seater formula racing sport then you probably love the locations where it takes place. This is why we've compiled a list of Formula 1 destinations that you should definitely have on your travel bucket list! Read on to know more…

Destinations To Add To Your F1 Travel Bucket List…

Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium

If you’re in Spa-Francorchamps then we’ve heard that ​Le Roannayin Francorchamps for fine dining, L’Art de Vivre in Spa, or ¡Toma! (which usually requires you to make a reservation months in advance) in Liège are some of the best places to grab a bite. Aside from this, as a tribute to Formula 1, you can also check out the Spa Circuit Museum Located at Stavelot Abbey, where you can marvel at motor vehicle exhibits. And in case you’re looking to spend time in nature, you can head toHautes Fagnes (High Fens), the largest nature reserve in Belgium, and guess what, it is only a 30-minute drive from Spa.

Suzuka, Japan

If you decide to stay in Tokyo then you can check out restaurants like Hakkoku or L’effervescence. And if you’re staying in Nagoya, then you can check out Yamamotoya, or Siam Garden. Both these locations are close to Suzuka and ideal to start your Suzuka Formula 1 journey with. And, in case you’re looking to prep or hype yourself up for the races, then you can check out Motopia Amusement Park, which is a stone's throw away from the circuit; somewhere you can enjoy rides as well as go-karting. Most importantly, watch the race from the grandstands. Grandstands D and E overlook the S-Curves, Grandstand G is on the inside of 130R, and Grandstand I offers a view of the Hairpin. And of course, there’s the bonus of spotting sakura blooms during the season!

Monza, Italy

Though you can choose to find accommodation in Milan, it’s much more affordable if you pick stay outside of the city. Other than that, Bergamo and Lake Como are also great locations to consider. As for food spots, you can check out Savini restaurant, which lies in the heart of the city as well as Moro Ristorante, great for Mediterranean food made with local ingredients. Oh and pro tip- get your drink tickets bright and early in the morning, so that you don’t have to queue up when the rest of the attendees have arrived!

Silverstone, England

If you’re looking to stay in a bigger city then London and Birmingham are great options. But you can also consider smaller cities such as Milton Keynes, Northampton, Bedford and Oxford. In terms of food, you can check out The Fox And Hounds and The White Horse pub, which are both great if you want to experience the quintessential British pub! Aside from this , Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire has held two Michelin stars since 1984, so it is definitely a must-try when you’re in town. If you’re looking to explore other activities, you can head to  Silverstone Experience Museum located at the entrance of the historic circuit, which celebrates over 70 years of motorsport history as well as the Stowe Gardens which are an impeccable symbol of the English landscape garden.

Zandvoort, North Holland, the Netherlands

How can one go to the Netherlands, and not indulge in the wonders of good old, hearty beer. There are so many great pubs and breweries to choose from when you’re at the circuit, but you can start from Bernie's Bar & Kitchen and Paddock Bar. But there are also so many other food spots to explore at Zandvoort beach, so don’t miss that! Aside from this, it is almost an unmissable step in exploring the Zandvoort F1 experience without visiting the Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet in Lelystad, where you’ll find an official Max Verstappen shop. The shop offers a wide range of clothing and accessories. And if you’re looking for an alternate location for accommodation, remember that Amsterdam is a 30-minute train ride from Zandvoort.

Las Vegas, USA

Food is almost a number one priority while travelling. Is it not? Especially if you’re going to be busy watching fast cars fight it out on the race track. This is why you can check out Bellagio and Peppermill (its fireside lounge and cool atmosphere have been the backdrop to many TV shows and films over the years). And by any chance, if you’re unable to grab a bite and all the restaurants are beginning to shut down, you can check out Spring Mountain Road, which is Las Vegas’ Chinatown. The eateries there usually close at 3 a.m. and many are open 24/7. Aside from this, going to Las Vegas has to include a casino experience, so, you can head to Palms Casino Resort (20 minutes away from the Las Vegas strip) and explore the spot during a peak season. You can also book a helicopter ride/tour of the strip, offered as the King of Canyons with a Formula 1 Race Track Views ticket(go big or go home right?).

And while we’re discussing all things luxe, if you want, you can check out Wynn Grid Club, which offers a private hospitality suite with up-close views of Turn 1 from the outdoor terrace and elevated cuisine and cocktails, and has a club by the name of  XS Nightclub that features the best artists and musicians.

Yas Marina, Abu Dhabi, UAE

From the water park Yas Waterworld, theme park Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi, to the notorious Ferrari World™ Abu Dhabi (where just FYI you can experience the world’s fastest rollercoaster – the Formula Rossa at 240m/ph in just 4.9 seconds), there is clearly a lot to do if choose to visit the Yas Marina circuit. One of the best F1 destinations to experience the incredible nightlife, Abu Dhabi is a dream come true for the F1 enthusiastic couple. And while you’re there, you mustn’t miss a visit and exploration of the Marina itself. Though many places are exclusive and a tough squeeze-in, entrance is usually free on the Grand Prix weekend. For food, you can considerCARNAby Dario Cecchini for Tuscan cuisine, located at the Main Oasis or, Sla Cafe if you're in the mood for a coffee.

Melbourne, Australia

M-Laneis the perfect spot to explore for food and drinks after the races. You can check out Idle Hour Vodka, Two Boys Brew kombucha and St Ali coffee, for drinks Pinchy’s Lobster and Champagne Bar and Zero Gradi for tacos and gelato! Aside from this, you can also explore the many beachfront eateries along the St Kilda beach and check out the Royal Botanical Gardens, if you want to spend some time in nature. And of course, if you’re aiming to have the best view at the F1, The Champions Club by F1 Experiences is located in the Brabham Skybox at the top of the grandstand, offering some of the best views in Melbourne.

Azerbaijan, Baku

One of the best cities to explore right now, Baku is a great destination if you want to explore the vastness of culture. In terms of food,  you can check out Icherisheher's Mugham Club and Qaynana. For a more international experience, Baku Café at Port Baku is located near the F1 grid. And finally, for a more traditional dining experience, Agabala Restaurant, right by the track, specialises in Azerbaijani folk cuisine from the 19th century. You can explore and appreciate Baku’s architecture by taking a stroll through its old city and its seaside location by taking a walk down Baku Boulevard.
