Sam Chui’s Iconic Wedding Swept Everyone Off Their Feet (Literally!)
Influencer Sam Chui’s sky-high wedding aboard a Boeing 747 turns a lifelong passion into the ultimate celebration of love.
Weddings usually happen in banquet halls, gardens, beaches, and even amidst the mountains, but aviation influencer Sam Chui’s wedding venue was one for the books. The influencer took ‘sky's the limit’ a little too seriously when he tied the knot with his wife Fiona aboard a chartered Boeing 747-400 on July 12, 2025. Turning the aircraft into the ultimate flying wedding venue, the couple celebrated their love and a shared dream that was hosted at Fujairah International Airport (FJR) with a mid-air detour over the Gulf of Oman.
Guests for the wedding were welcomed at the FJR airport and then aboard a 24-year-old Boeing 747-400 that is operated by Moldovan charter airline Terra Avia, which uses it primarily for Hajj charters, flying routes between Nigeria and Jeddah (JED). The aircraft, registered ER-BOS, has a rich aviation history and has once flown with big airlines like Singapore Airlines, Transaero and Garuda Indonesia before it joined Terra Avia’s fleet
95 minutes of magic
The couple’s private ‘Sky Wedding’ flight departed at 6:30 PM local time and cruised smoothly over the Gulf of Oman for 95 minutes before returning to the Fujairah airport at 8:04 PM. The Sky Wedding, an unforgettable event, was part of a broader celebration. For those 95 minutes, the guests onboard celebrated Sam and Fiona’s new beginning, which was later described by the influencer as “the best day of our lives.”
Sam captured every moment of their wedding on his Instagram, sharing glimpses of the celebrations onboard. He wrote, “We couldn't ask for anything better!” and he was right about it- who else gets to say ‘I do’ while floating over the Gulf of Oman?
A dream come true
The aircraft ER BOS, which was previously featured in one of Sam’s earlier YouTube videos, where he explored its operations, highlighting their unique role in global charter services, is configured in a high-density layout. It has 26 business class seats and 450 economy seats. It is perfect for accommodating large groups onboard. Though it is mainly used for pilgrim flights, this versatile 747 traded pilgrims for wedding guests for one evening.
