Selena Gomez recently teased a detail from her plans for the menu on the day of her nuptials with the record producer. She shared that the couple most probably will not be cutting a cake, but there is one very bizarre dessert that she wants served on her big day.

In a clip that was posted by Rare Beauty, her beauty brand, on Instagram, the singer hinted that she was planning to switch the traditional wedding desserts with a dish that was very close to her heart and for all the right reasons. The video was captioned, “When the day comes, it’s a reminder to make every moment yours”, and it started with the 33-year-old singer-actor saying, “Whenever that day comes, I do know I don’t want a big cake,” highlighting that she did not want a cake for her wedding day.

A dessert special to Selena Gomez

​Her idea of a dessert on her wedding day, instead, is a smaller, more intimate confection which would only be for her and her would-be husband, Benny. She revealed, “I think I’d want a mini one just for us so that we can freeze.”

She shared that she wanted to ditch the traditional wedding treats and would prefer biscuits with gravy. A bizarre dessert, quite literally! She shared that the dish was her grandma’s specialty and she would like to switch it with the usual sweet treats. “My Nana’s biscuits and gravy. That sounds like dessert to me,” she said. 

These little additions to their wedding day preparations and plans are what set their big day apart. From skipping the first dance to having Challah, a traditional Jewish braided bread made from enriched dough, for the uninitiated, the couple plans to make their wedding extremely personal and a reflection of who they are as a couple and what both of them expect from their big day.

The couple’s romance had first sparked rumours in July of 2023 when the record producer had attended Selena’s 31st birthday party and she had shared a picture of the two with her arm around her beau. The couple had later confirmed their relationship in December 2023, revealing that they had been secretly dating each other for the last six months, and their engagement was announced about a year later on December 11, 2024.

While announcing their engagement in December 2024, the Only Murders in the Building actress had shared a photo of herself flaunting the sparkling rock on her finger and captioned the picture, “forever begins now.”

According to reports, the much-awaited wedding is set to take place in September 2025 in Montecito in California. The high-security event is rumoured to be a two-day event and to star their A-list friends, including Taylor Swift and her boyfriend Travis Kelce, among others and close family members. 

“She is going back and forth on whether or not to allow people to have their phones as an extra measure of security and privacy, along with the fact that she wants everyone to be present,” a source close to the couple had shared.

Blanco had also previously shared on an episode of the Therapuss podcast that he expects the wedding day and ceremony to be chill and amazing.
