An Instagram Reel has been circulating on Instagram for days, and the first few seconds are enough to stop anyone mid-scroll. At a destination wedding, the usual post-sangeet daze, guests in full festive finery… and then the twist, a row of people relaxing hooked to IV drips! Influencer Alanna Panday also included an IV therapy booth at her 2023 Mumbai mehendi and was even seen taking the drip herself. More recently, the viral video from Delhi brought the idea back into the spotlight.

The video was shared by the organisers, Skulpted by Kan, capturing the scene with the caption saying, “POV: You’re at a destination wedding… and instead of nimbu paani, there’s a legit IV bar next to the poolside. It’s such a simple concept, but such a massive upgrade to the whole wedding experience.”

The reactions online ranged from disbelief to admiration, because the IV bar at a wedding is exactly the kind of luxury upgrade for the year.

So, What Actually Happens at an IV bar?

Alcohol dehydrates the body and depletes electrolytes, leaving guests with headaches, fatigue, and the infamous post-party slump.

The team explains that at weddings, IV drips deliver fluids directly into the bloodstream, often including electrolytes, vitamin C, and, for some guests, glutathione.

Staffed by masked professionals using single-use sterile needles, the bar allows everyone to reset quickly without missing a moment of the celebrations.

But IV drips should always be administered by trained medical professionals. Guests with medical conditions or specific health concerns should also consult a doctor before opting for IV therapy.

This trend seems a perfect tailor-made for modern wedding itineraries, whether it is the late-night sangeets, early pheras, destination travel, and multi-day celebrations.

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.
