Our weekend reading list is sorted!

There’s something about a wedding that provides the perfect setting for a love story. Well, beyond the obvious tale of love between the couple getting married, of course!
The high-stress management of the ceremony, dysfunctional family members, the exotic locales if it’s a destination shindig or the all-around feeling of love in the air makes for the perfect foil for love stories, as evidenced by the countless romantic novels set with weddings as a background.
Since wedding season is fast approaching, we figured we’d update our reading lists with some of the best wedding-themed romance novels out there to get the party started. Take a look…

What happens when you mix a whirlwind wedding with a best man who you can’t stand (who is also frustratingly irresistible)? Investment banker and recently-jilted Sidney Sinclair will find out as she performs her duties as the Maid of Honour at her sister’s wedding. The funny and steamy novel is perfect for anyone who loves the classic trope of enemies-to-lovers.

Jasmine Guillory is known for her hilarious and sexy novels and this one is no different. In the story, Maddie and Theo have to put aside their differences to come together and plan the wedding for their mutual friend Alexa. An ill-timed one-night stand and the simmering attraction fuelled by their continued proximity doesn’t help matters.

This one truly embodies the adage ‘Love can be found when you’ve stopped looking’. After the disastrous end of her relationship, pastry chef Cherisse decides to swear off dating and focus on her business. But fate has another plan for her as she is thrown together with her long-term enemy Keiran to manage her sister’s wedding.

One of the most popular romance novels online, Elena Armas’ debut novel The Spanish Love Deception is a delightful read involving weddings, crazy families and fake dating. Catalina Martin desperately needs a date for her sister’s wedding as she had told her family she was dating an American guy who, in reality, doesn’t exist. Enter Aaron Blackford, her tall, charming, handsome, and totally insufferable colleague who offers to be her date at the wedding. As you can guess, sparks fly and chaos ensues.

This funny and steamy romance follows Delilah Green, who gets guilted into going back to her hometown to act as a photographer for her stepsister’s wedding. What she didn’t account was for the very real chemistry between her and Claire, one of her stepsister’s friends. The two find themselves getting closer to each other as wedding madness unfolds around them and Delilah finds herself falling for Claire.

Mia Sosa has won us over time and again with her sharply-written characters, hilarious dialogues and fun premises. In this one, she introduces us to wedding coordinator Carolina Santos. Carolina’s dream job is within an arm’s reach, the only catch is that she would have to work with her former fiancé’s brother. Recipe for disaster? Or a budding love story? Read the novel to find out…

When Rita Chitniss signs herself and her boyfriend up for a popular matchmaking site to prove that they’re a perfect match, the results are far from what she hoped for. The supposedly accurate arranged marriage platform pairs her with her ex-boyfriend, who broke her heart. Can she prove the algorithm wrong or is the digital matchmaker truly onto something?

This one combines two of our favourite romance novel tropes, exes-to-lovers and fake dating. The story follows ex-boyfriends Kian and Hudson who have to pretend to be dating again in front of Hudson's parents. As is the rule of any romantic fictional universe, chaos ensues and Kian finds himself a wedding guest at a big wedding that could do wonders for his career and maybe give him time to examine the lingering feelings left between him and Hudson.

Fans of the genre know that you cannot go wrong with a Nora Roberts novel. Her Bride Quartet series is perfect for anyone who loves romance and weddings. The books follow four friends who also happen to be partners in a wedding planning business. There’s Mac (the photographer) Emma (the florist), Laurel (the baker) and Parker (the one in charge of putting it all together). Each book in the series follows one of the friends as they navigate weddings, past issues, and their search for love.
