Aladdin’s Mena Massoud and Emily Shah Tie The Knot In Tuscany
A multicultural fairytale in Tuscany, Mena Massoud and Emily Shah’s wedding beautifully blended Hindu and Coptic Christian traditions with Italian charm.
Weddings in the Disney world are always dreamy, but when a Disney character gets married, it can never be anything short of a fairytale. Disney’s Aladdin star Mena Massoud just tied the knot with actress Emily Shah, and we cannot stop gushing over their dreamy wedding. Their nuptials were held in the scenic landscapes of Italy and were a one-of-a-kind celebration.
Mena Massoud And Emily Shah’s Wedding That Transcended Boundaries
Mena, who was born in Egypt and immigrated to Canada with his family when he was three years old, wanted his heritage to be a part of the celebration, while Emily, whose father is Gujarati and mother is American, wanted her tradition to be honoured equally and therefore the couple decided to blend their rich cultural roots.
The wedding was a multi-ceremony affair stretched across days and was hosted in the rolling hills of Tuscany, Italy. The festivities began with a Hindu wedding, with Emily looking ethereal in a striking red sari, while Mena wore a cream sherwani perfectly complementing the bride. This was followed by a Christian wedding where the couple wore coordinated white ensembles and exchanged their vows.
The couple, who had gotten engaged in 2023 and had tied the knot in July 2025, had shared their joy over an Instagram post, later in July, that said, “The wedding of our dreams. From our engagement in Japan to our wedding in Italy… let’s do this Habibi.” They shared photos that captured the sweet moments the couple shared during their wedding ceremonies.
A Love Story That Began With A Dating App
In an interview with Vogue, Emily Shah revealed that she had first met Mena through a dating app in 2018 but lost touch with each other. However, the two reconnected a year later in Los Angeles and built a steady relationship that spanned careers as well as continents. In 2023, Mena proposed to Emily in Japan during a romantic trip, and although the couple initially planned to marry within six months, they decided to take their time in crafting a wedding that felt true to them.
Mena Massoud had risen to international fame with his role as Aladdin in Disney’s live-action remake of the beloved classic, which was released in 2019. He has since appeared in several projects that include Wish You Were Here (2025). He is also set to star in Tecie. Emily Shah, on the other hand, has had a long-spanning career across both Bollywood as well as Hollywood that began with her childhood role in the 2002 film Kehtaa Hai Dil Baar Baar to working alongside Abhay Deol in Jungle Cry in 2023.
