Inside Sarina Vaswani and Lavine Hemlani’s Big Fat Indian wedding in France…

The South of France has been abuzz with starry activities lately. There was the Cannes Film Festival, where stars from around the world descend upon the French Riviera to celebrate movies, and then there was the star-studded Big Fat Indian wedding of Sarina Vaswani and Lavine Hemlani at the famous Château de la Croix des Gardes.

Daughter of Dubai-based billionaire Sunil Vaswani and philanthropist Rita Vaswani, Sarina married edtech entrepreneur Lavine Hemlani at Cannes in a traditional Indian ceremony that lasted four days.
The couple exchanged vows surrounded by their family and friends, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea with acres of verdant gardens and a forest flanking them.
Decor company The Wedding Square and Roni Floral Design joined hands to transform the property into a gorgeous ivory expanse for the couple’s white wedding. Thousands of white flowers, giant white bows, all-white seating and a mirrored aisle ensured the brief was met to the ‘T’.
The wedding’s guest list was a star-studded one, with actor Sanjay Dutt, singer Sonu Nigam and designer Manish Malhotra present for the nuptials. Singer Jason Derulo was enlisted to perform at the pre-wedding functions.

The bride wore a custom Manish Malhotra pale blush lehenga, with the groom complementing in an all-white sherwani look.
The South of France has proven to be an idyllic location for weddings in the past. Some of the most famous ones include Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge’s grand nuptials and Keira Knightley and James Righton’s wedding.

The chateau where Sarina and Lavine got married is also one of the most beautiful private properties in Cannes. It also boasts of a prominent role in the 1955 Alfred Hitchcock classic To Catch A Thief, starring Grace Kelly and Cary Grant.
Here’s wishing the couple a lifetime of happiness!
