2026 keeps getting more and more festive. While some couples are declaring their love and announcing their weddings, others are stepping into the new phase of their married life: parenthood. After Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have now announced their second child.

Taking to their social media handles on Instagram, the couple announced the news on Sunday through a joint post. The sweet picture shows their daughter, Dua, holding a positive pregnancy test kit and Deepika captioned the post with two evil eye emoticons to ward off any negative energies. The post was quick to garner widespread attention as their fans and well-wishers dropped their heartiest congratulations in the comment section.

The couple had previously announced the birth of their first baby girl on September 8, 2024. They had made the announcement with another adorable post on their Instagram handle. In the joint post, the couple had written, "Welcome baby girl. 8-9-2024. Deepika & Ranveer (sic)."

At the WAVES 2025 summit, Deepika had talked about how welcoming a child had reshaped her priorities and had shifted her focus from her years of career-driven life to focusing on caring for "another human being."

She had said that motherhood had been particularly life-altering for her, keep her grounded and deeply emotional, making her more appreciative of everyday moments. Further she had revealed that she wanted her daughter to have a normal childhood without the intense scrutiny that the celebrities and their children have to face.

Deepika and Ranveer had tied the knot on November 14, 2018, in a grand celebration that was held at Italy's Lake Como. Their wedding was a two-part celebration that honoured both Deepika's Konkani heritage and Ranveer's Sindhi background. The couple had initially started dating each other during the filming of their movie Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela in 2013 on the sets. And after dating for several years, the couple had secretly gotten engaged in 2015 before they made their wedding plans public in 2018.

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.
