Everything We Know About Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s Wedding So Far
Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco will have an extravagant wedding celebration this September in California.
It feels like just yesterday that Selena Gomez practically broke the internet when she flashed her engagement ring announcing her engagement to Benny Blanco. And now, it looks like they’re finally getting prepped for the big step into the next phase of their life — a wedding is on the horizon!
All the Details to Know About Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s Wedding
A September wedding in Montecito?
While Selena and Benny haven’t officially confirmed the dates, The Daily Mail reports that the couple is planning a dreamy, two-day wedding celebration this September in Montecito, California. According to the source, invites have already gone out via email, and there’s an indication that it’s going to be more than just a day affair.
“Selena and Benny’s wedding is going to be a two-day event in Montecito in September. Everyone invited has been asked to bring overnight bags to stay for the weekend,” the report reveals.
Who’s Making the Guest List?
While no official guest list has been shared by the couple, there have been rumours that A-listers are sure to show up. Expect big names like Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, along with Selena’s castmates from Only Murders in the Building and some of Benny’s fellow music world stars.
From Insta Official to “I Do”
Their relationship became public in 2023, and ever since, the two have been setting the bar sky-high when it comes to modern romance. Fast forward to December 2024, and their engagement was all over social media — that sparkly diamond was impossible to miss.
Sources close to the couple shared that Selena has always felt grounded and safe with Benny. She dreams of building a life with him, and it's clear they’re not rushing anything — they’re soaking in every moment.
Taking It Slow, But With a Few Must-Haves
Though they’re not speeding through wedding prep, the couple has figured out some non-negotiables for the big day. One thing’s for sure: food is very important.
In a candid chat on the Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware podcast, Benny said, “The only thing I've said straight up, as a part of the food, is that I want Jake (Cohen) to do the challah.”
Challah, for the uninitiated, is a traditional Jewish braided bread made from enriched dough — soft on the inside, golden on the outside. Jake Cohen, a Jewish cuisine expert and bestselling author, seems to be a must-have at their wedding. Benny claims Jake “makes the best challah I've ever had,” and Selena wholeheartedly agrees.
A Wedding Menu with Personality
Considering both Selena and Benny are confessed food lovers — Benny even proposed with Taco Bell in the mix — it’s no surprise that the menu is a top priority. Benny’s a cookbook author, and Selena’s known for her cooking show Selena + Chef.
Another menu item that might take centre stage? Corn. Lots of it. Benny joked, “just corn,” might as well be the wedding theme. Honestly, we’d love to see that.
A Wedding Without a First Dance?
In another episode of Table Manners, the couple opened up about a tradition they’re planning to skip — the first dance.
“I don’t think we’re looking at having one of those ‘cause they’re a little—I feel embarrassed,” said Selena. Benny chimed in with a sweet reason, “She’s shy.”
Instead, Selena is planning something even more meaningful — a special dance with her maternal grandfather.
“He never got a chance to walk my mom down the aisle. Because, good for my mom, she decided to go to (Las) Vegas and be like, ‘Whoo,’ and she’s still been with (my father) ever since they were like 26,” she shared. “So, it’s very cute that they did that, but I wanted to give (my grandfather) the opportunity to have that.”
Honoring Jewish Traditions
Another tradition they’re excited (and a little nervous) about? The Hora — a Jewish wedding dance where the couple is lifted on chairs by guests.
“I’m very nervous about that,” Selena admitted. “I’ve got to be honest, it looks so cute, but I was like, ‘What? I have to depend on just something like (a chair)?”
Album, Love, and a Whole Lot of Planning
Since getting engaged, the duo has kept busy with their collaborative album I Said I Love You First and all the promo that came with it. Through interviews and appearances, fans have been able to sneak a peek into their love story — and the way they’re approaching the wedding with joy, calm, and love.
In a chat with Rolling Stone, Benny shared how surreal and sweet their engagement has felt, “While you were talking, she was sitting there staring at her ring,” he said. “We’re just living our life every day. There’s not this whole elaborate thing. I think we’re very lucky to be surrounded by such great people, and we’ve still just been enjoying so much. It feels like we got engaged yesterday but also feels like we got engaged 20 years ago.”
