“I’m all butterflies still,” says Shradha, “I can’t explain how I feel because it’s not sunk in yet. The first thing that popped into my head was that it’s a Yes! A hundred percent yes.”

Shradha took to Instagram to share photos from the surprise proposal planned by her now-fiancé, her best friend and sister.

“I should have done the math when my sister flew down to Mumbai and surprised us. She told me it’s for Nitesh’s birthday (which was the day after the proposal). My nephew is also very fond of Nitesh, so I figured that’s why they flew down for it,” she says, “My best friend had told me that this is going to be a shoot for one of the jewellers she handles, and she has her own social media agency. We picked a cute outfit and she said since I was there, they would shoot me as well. I figured I could get some nice content for my social. But when I entered I saw the photographers and stuff and instantly realised that it’s happening.”

Nitesh and his conspirators went the full-on romance way with the proposal, complete with an abundance of flowers and a picturesque location.

The couple has been dating for the past 15 years, having known each other since they were children. “We’ve attended each other’s birthday parties while growing up, and we have so many childhood pictures together. Our families have known each other for a long time.”

The next step, naturally, is wondering about what kind of a wedding the make-up artist manifests for herself. “We don’t have our wedding plans in place yet. But I do know that I want a very intimate wedding,” shares Shradha, “I’m a rather private person. I haven’t spoken about my relationship on social media. This is the first time, and since it was the proposal, we had to put it out! I would surely want a very, very intimate wedding with people whom I love. That’s the only thing I want.”

Shradha has worked with some of the most iconic celebrity brides of the recent past, from Alanna Panday to Aaliyah Kashyap. For her own wedding beauty look, the make-up artist says she’ll stick with her signature look. “I think people associate me with my signature ‘minimal magic’ look,” says Shradha, “It’s the one I create the most. I would just define my natural features and enhance them. Nothing too heavy or too much.”

Here’s wishing the couple all the good fortune as they plan the next chapter of their lives.

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.

The fact that it comes with band, baaja and baraat — what's not to love? And that is the reason our first issue celebrates:
