Inside Jeet Adani And Diva Shah’s Intimate Wedding In Ahmedabad
The couple eschewed pomp and show for a wedding filled with heartwarming details…
If you had been waiting with bated breaths for news of a mini Taylor Swift concert at the wedding of Gautam Adani’s son Jeet Adani, you’d still be waiting!
The billionaire took to Instagram to share photographs from his son’s wedding to Diva Shah, the daughter of diamond merchant Jaimin Shah, writing, “With the blessings of the Almighty God, Jeet and Diva tied in the holy bond of marriage today. This marriage took place today in Ahmedabad with traditional customs and auspicious wishes among loved ones.”
He addressed the glaring lack of international (and Indian) celebrities and performers on the guestlist by adding, “It was a small and extremely private ceremony, so we couldn't invite all well-wishers, which I apologise.”
For the wedding ceremony, the bride wore an ivory, gold and deep red Sabyasachi lehenga. The groom complemented her in his gold sherwani.
The couple also shared a glimpse into their pre-wedding festivities, including a welcome dinner and a beautifully vibrant mehndi ceremony.
While the bride went classic for her sangeet ceremony with a stunning Tarun Tahiliani lehenga, she went the bold and experimental route with Anamika Khanna ensembles for the welcome dinner and the mehndi ceremony.
The couple’s wedding planner Aashna Sharan, of Aash Studios, shared a glimpse of the ‘Carnival Mastani Mehndi’ on Instagram.
The event area was filled with a riot of flowers which, upon closer look, turned out to be made out of crochet! The decor also included a handwoven crochet blanket made by 50 women from around the city. They also enlisted the services of women lead organisations to create cross-stitch panels for the stage, possibly giving birth to a brilliant new and sustainable trend in wedding decor.
The couple, who got engaged in March 2023, share values of giving back and philanthropy. This is why they pledged INR 10 lakhs each for the wedding of 500 women with disabilities every year. They also chose to stay away from a grand celebration in favour of supporting various causes that were close to their heart.
Here’s wishing the couple a lifetime of happiness.
