Inside Tae Ying and celebrity chef Wu Sihan’s star-studded wedding...

This Father’s Day was made extra special for Singaporean actor Zheng Geping as he got to walk his daughter Tae Ying down the aisle. That’s not all. The actress got married in the venue where her parents, Zheng Geping and Hong Huifang, had held their wedding 32 years ago.

Actress Tae Ying tied the knot with celebrity chef Wu Sihan at the Orchard Hotel Singapore, surrounded by their friends and family. The couple shared photos from the celebrations on their Instagram.

The bride was walked down the aisle by her father and her godfather, DJ Hong Weiwen.

The star-studded guest list included fellow Singaporean celebrities and artists, including Christopher Lee and his wife Fann Wong, Yvonne Lim, Florence Tan, Vincent Ng, Cassandra See, Chen Xiuhuan, Xiang Yun, Aileen Tan, Chen Hanwei, Richard Low, Lin Ruping, Romeo Tan, Elvin Ng, Rebecca Lim, Xixi Lim, Denis Camillia, and Desmond Tan.

The wedding was emceed by the couple’s close friends Hazelle Teo and Zhu Zeliang.

The bride wore two custom-designed wedding dresses. First, she opted for a strapless gown with a ruffled skirt by Nicole + Felicia. She then followed it up by wearing a form-fitting lace gown by Berta.

According to Singaporean pop culture magazine 8 Days, Tae Ying’s brother, Calvert, and Wu Sihan’s cousin, Shin, had prepared a surprise for the bride and groom. They had created a music video for the wedding with them performing Phil Chang’s ‘To You’.

The couple met back in 2021 at the Italian bistro where Wu Sihan works as the head chef. They got engaged in 2023 but kept it under wraps until they announced it on Instagram in March 2024.

Tae Ying and Wu Sihan held a traditional you da li, or a traditional Chinese betrothal ceremony, in May. Traditionally, the ceremony has the groom gifting the bride’s family various kinds of gifts to show his sincerity towards marrying the bride and his ability to take care of her after marriage. It’s usually held two to four weeks before the wedding day.
Here’s wishing the couple a lifetime of happiness!
