Congratulations are in order for South Korean model and entrepreneur Irene Kim. The founder of the clothing label Ireneisgood got married recently in a star-studded ceremony in Seoul.

K-pop stars, like Cha Eun-woo (from ASTRO) and Jessica (from Girls’ Generation), and fashion influencers, like Bryanboy, Molly Chiang, Yoyo Cao, and Declan Chan, made their way to The Shilla Hotel in Seoul, venue to some of the most famous celebrity weddings, to attend Irene’s nuptials.

The model got married to her non-celebrity boyfriend, named John, in a mix of traditional Christian and Korean rituals.

After donning the traditional hanbok for the meeting with the parents before the ceremony, the bride donned a gown by Self-Portrait for the meet and greet with the guests.

She changed into a custom fish-cut Miss Sohee gown with a corsetted bodice and a veil. The groom’s identity was kept hidden in the photos and videos shared on Instagram with several emojis, as per the couple’s request.

The ceremony had all the traditional Christian wedding elements, including the bride and groom reciting their heartfelt vows and the bouquet toss (which was caught by K-pop idol Jessica Jung!).

For the afterparty, Irene changed into a custom Nicole + Felicia dress.

The wedding ceremony was followed by the Pyebaek ceremony. It’s a traditional Korean, post-wedding ceremony to symbolise the entrance of the bride into her new household. One of the main customs has the newlyweds serve tea or soju to the groom’s family to offer their respects.

Irene has been taking her followers along on her wedding planning journey ever since she dropped her engagement announcement back in January earlier this year.

Irene announced her engagement with a heartfelt post on InstagramInstagram/Irene

She had shared a photo of herself holding her now-husband’s hand. “Today, I am opening my heart to share a moment that has forever changed my life," she had written, "This isn’t just a story about a ring or a question; it’s about a love that has grown through precious little moments that have built the foundation of something so special. I feel so blessed to have met the man I want to spend the rest of my life with. I can’t wait to share more with you in a way that aligns with my comfort and happiness. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for always supporting me and for celebrating this special era of love with me.”

Along with her pre-wedding workout and skincare routines, the newly minted bride also shared glimpses of her unique bridal shower, where she invited her fans and friends to enjoy a flea market, proceeds of which were directed towards the causes the couple supports.
