The actress got married in Mumbai in an intimate wedding ceremony. However, she chose to give her fans and followers a glimpse into the wedding through her Instagram, including her stunning bridal wardrobe and the many sweet and spontaneous moments between her and her then-fiancé.

She chose a strappy ivory Sukriti and Aakriti kurta for her haldi ceremony, accessorised with white floral jewellery. For her mehndi, the actress picked a yellow Puneet Balana lehenga with bandhani accents. For the main wedding ceremony, Karishma picked a pastel pink Falguni Shane Peacock lehenga, paired with statement pastel-hued jewellery.

    In Conversation With Karishma Tanna

Manifest: What is your favourite thing about weddings?

Karishma Tanna: The celebration of love! I love how weddings bring people together, creating beautiful memories with friends and family. The energy, the emotions, and the joy—it’s all so magical.

M: Did you have a go-to look that you rely on as a wedding guest?

KT: Yes! A classic sari or a chic lehenga, paired with statement jewellery. I love looks that are elegant yet comfortable enough for dancing!

M: Tell us about your wedding ceremony. How close was it to the dream wedding you always imagined?

KT: It was a dream come true! I had always wanted an intimate, elegant celebration with pastel tones and a mix of traditional and modern vibes. It turned out to be exactly how I imagined, filled with love, laughter, and some fun twists.

M: You popularised walking down the aisle while dancing. Was the iconic bridal entry planned?

KT: Honestly, it was spontaneous! I wanted my entry to reflect my personality—fun, vibrant, and full of life. Dancing down the aisle just felt natural in the moment. I was overwhelmed with excitement and happiness, and I’ll never forget how everyone cheered for me!

M: What is a core memory from your wedding that still replays in your mind?

KT: The moment when we exchanged our vows and looked into each other’s eyes—it was so emotional and heartfelt. That, and the crazy dance party at the reception where everyone let loose!

M: What are some songs that never fail to drag you to the dance floor at any wedding?

KT:  ‘Gallan Goodiyan’ (from Dil Dhadakne Do), ‘London Thumakda’ (from Queen), ‘Kala Chashma’ (from Baar Baar Dekho), ‘Ghungroo’ (from War), Sadi Gali (from Tanu Weds Manu)

M: Can you share some fun anecdotes from the wedding planning process?

KT: We had so many laughs during the dance rehearsals—everyone kept forgetting their steps! Also, picking the wedding menu turned into a full-fledged tasting party with family debates on which dessert to pick.

M: What are some of your favourite wedding trends?

KT: I love minimalist decor, personalised wedding favours, and brides opting for comfortable yet stylish footwear. The move toward smaller, more meaningful celebrations is also beautiful.

Karishma Tanna's wedding had it all: Love, laughter, and a lot of (joyful) chaos)!Epic Stories

M: Have you worn your wedding jewellery or outfits after your wedding?

KT: Yes! I’ve styled my wedding jewellery with other outfits for different occasions. Repurposing wedding pieces is a great way to relive those memories sustainably.

M: Tell us a beauty secret or tip that you followed religiously before your wedding.

KT: Hydration! Drinking lots of water, eating clean, and following a consistent skincare routine with face masks and massages worked wonders for my skin.

M: How did you deal with stress during wedding planning?

KT: I delegated! Having a great team and trusting them took so much pressure off me. Also, yoga and meditation helped me stay grounded during the chaos.

M: What are some lessons you’ve learned about relationships and love in the past two years?

KT: Patience, communication, and always making time for each other. Love is in the little things—being present, supporting each other, and celebrating every moment, big or small.

For Manifest to become one of Cambridge Dictionary's most viewed words of 2024 — 1,30,000 hits and counting — it means some of us must have Googled it at least once. I know, I hit that search button over and over again
because each time I looked at it, I saw a new meaning.

Putting together a homegrown title at a time when the demise of print has been long announced may seem surprising...
...but it has long been a dream of mine to give India a magazine it deserves. A magazine that is the country.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, represents India more than our weddings. It is a time when families are brought together. Traditions come alive as they are adapted to each couple's beliefs. And lives are joined in a way that the romantic in me still enjoys.
