Kritika Kamra and Gaurav Kapur Tie The Knot In An Intimate Terrace Wedding
Kritika Kamra and Gaurav Kapur find their happy ending and in the most fairytale-manner...
There is no more beautiful feeling than when love finds its happy ending and actor Kritika Kamra and cricket commentator Gaurav Kapur just found theirs. The couple who had long been rumoured to be hitched together finally tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai on March 11. And while everything about their big day was special, there was one really unique element that set their wedding apart. The couple chose to opt out of the big-fat-Indian-wedding and formalised their marriage with a signing ceremony at Gaurav’s house in Bandra in the presence of their immediate family members and close friends, including Soha Ali Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Anya Singh, Angad Bedi, Neha Dhipia, Sagarika Ghatge and Zaheer Khan.
The ceremony saw Kritika adorning a gorgeous bridal look where she wore a stunning sindoor-red chanderi saree for Cinnabar. Woven in tussar silk, the sari was detailed with delicate gold and was created specially for the Kritika and gifted to her by her mother.
“From the beginning, I knew I wanted to wear a true sindoor red, but not too heavy. The fabric would do all the talking,” Kritika had said in one of the reports.
The sari was styled with a sleeveless blouse for the bride’s big day with a deep neckline. Kritika had layered it with traditional jewellery, including a statement choker set featuring emeralds and uncut diamonds to complement her longer necklace. The look was completed with matching earrings, kada and an engagement ring that doubled as a cocktail ring, fitting right into the evening.
Her makeup was minimal to complement her bridal ensemble. Kritika kept it soft with subtle eye makeup and her hair was let loose, cascading down her back with a centre parting.
Meanwhile, the groom matched the vibe perfectly with the evening as he wore an elegant ivory-and-gold bandhgala by Raghavendra Rathore. His custom-tailored ensemble featured fine thread embroidery and heritage buttons, paired with crisp ivory trousers and a pocket square.
“We’ve always believed that the most meaningful moments in life are the ones shared with the people you love. As we begin this new chapter together, we’re so grateful to celebrate our wedding surrounded by our families and closest friends at home, in Mumbai,” the couple said in a statement.
The close-knit ceremony, a sundowner, was hosted at a terrace that was draped in soft whites and greenery, mirroring the subtle, intimate vibe of their wedding day.
We wish the couple a hearty congratulations for their new journey ahead.
